Well, degens. It is Thursday, and the NHL Stanley Cup Finals returns with a massive Game 3 tonight. The Panthers broke the Oilers down yet again in Game 2. The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for June 13
Matthew Tkachuk Higher Than 0.5 Points
The Florida Panthers went down 1-0 in the first period of Game 2 and then flipped a switch. They, of course, went on to win 4-1 and take a 2-game lead in the series. Now they’ll look to take just one of the next two on enemy ice in order to try and close the series out at home. Our value hunting glasses are on, and we’re looking directly at a Matthew Tkachuk point.
The American winger put together a stellar regular season, tallying 88 points across 80 games played. Here in the post-season, Tkachuk has tallied 19 points across 19 games played. Although Tkachuk has been pointless in his last four games, he is still a mega-factor.
Tonight, I see him being a focal point for the Panthers and somehow finding his way onto the box score. So forget the cold spell. We’re taking Matthew Tkachuk Higher Than 0.5 Points in Game 3.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Higher Than 0.5 Points
As alluded to above, the Edmonton Oilers are in a bit of hot water in the Stanley Cup Finals. Going down 2-0 in the series has not been a very fortuitous outcome for teams in previous attempts. But this team has Connor McDavid and Leon Draisatl, so anything is truly possible. However, our value-hunting glasses are keyed right back in on Oilers veteran Ryan Nugent-Hopkins tonight.
This NHL Underdog entry is more of a hunch play after watching this guy very closely in this series. The numbers would appear to be unkind for a RNH point tonight. So that’s exactly why we’re going “Kansas City shuffling” and taking it.
The “NUGE” is overdue for putting his name on the box score. And he is getting tons and tons of opportunities being out there with McDavid and Draisatl. The Beatles may have sung “All You Need is Love”, but tonight us degens are singing “All We Need is One.” Let’s go ahead and mash Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Higher Than 0.5 Points and cash this thing.
