The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for June 8

Sam Bennett Higher Than 0.5 Points (1.1x Odds)

The Florida Panthers are the home team in this series, and starting in front of your fans is an advantage. It’s also been a long road back to this position, but the Panthers return for their second straight Finals appearance. A quick look at how they arrived: dusted off the Lightning, dusted off the Bruins, dusted off the Rangers. In summation, this team is as battle-tested as the armies of Napoleon. Tonight’s Game 1 value find is gritty centerman Sam Bennett.

Bennett played an abbreviated regular season and still managed to tally 41 points in 69 games. Some might even say that’s “NICE!” Here in the Playoffs, the 27-year-old has made life very difficult for the opposition. Not only is he dropping mega hits, but he’s finding the box score, too.

With 10 points across 12 games, the 1.1x Odds on his name tonight should be considered larceny. One more little nugget: Bennett has tallied four points across his last three games. Let’s take a nice price on a not-so-nice guy on the ice. Go ahead and punch Sam Bennett Higher Than 0.5 Points in Game 1 tonight.

Evan Bouchard Higher Than 0.5 Points

It is truly hard to believe how bad the Edmonton Oilers began this season. But, the firing of a head coach and an extended winning streak changes the complexion of a season quite quickly. The Oilers find themselves in the Stanley Cup Finals, looking to hoist the Cup for the first time in 34 years.

McDavid and Draisatl will be the main attractions, but for tonight’s two-pack snack, we’re keying in on a supporting actor. He’s someone loyal readers are quite familiar with, in Evan Bouchard.

This dude Evan averaged just over one point per game in the regular season, with 82 points in 81 games. In the Playoffs, he’s put together an astounding 27 points in just 18 games. Hell, with that kind of number, I may have slighted him a bit by calling him a supporting actor.

Bouchard skates into Game 1 tonight, riding a solid little four-game point streak. And our value hunting glasses have spotted him to open his Cup Finals account tonight. Let’s go ahead and grab Evan Bouchard Higher Than 0.5 Points and cash this two-pack snack!
