The field is set for the Monaco Grand Prix! Charles Leclerc takes the pole position with Oscar Piastri starting on the front row with him. Red Bull struggled in qualifying with Sergio Perez limited in Q1, he’ll start 18th on the grid. Max Verstappen has some work to do starting in sixth on the grid Sunday.

Lando Norris Better Than 4.0
Landon Norris lines up fourth on the grid for the Monaco Grand Prix. He’s been on fire here lately, finishing in the top two in three straight races, including his first career win at the Miami Grand Prix. Lando has finished on the podium in four of the seven events this season and has been the only driver to take on Max Verstappen and beat him head-to-head.
With Lando starting fourth, he should be able to at least hold that spot throughout the day, and I would expect him to challenge those ahead of him; Max Verstappen would be the most obvious threat behind him, but Lando will have a good chance to get around his teammate and Carlos Sainz as well.
Nico Hulkenberg Better Than 16.5
Speaking of drivers who have been on a tear lately, look no further than Nico Hulkenberg. He’s beaten every expectation for Haas this season. After a subpar performance at Bahrain, it’s been nothing worse than 11th for Nico, who had three-point finishes in the last six rounds.
Hulkenberg qualified 12th for Sunday’s Grand Prix, but both Haas cars were disqualified after the stewards discovered an irregularity with the opening of the drag reduction system (DRS) on the rear wings of their VF-24s. Despite that, expect Hulkenberg to quickly fight his way forward, and just to get to 16th in the order shouldn’t be too tall a task.

Alex Albon Worse Than 9.0
Albon will start ninth on the grid Sunday, the best starting spot of the season for the Thai driver of Williams Racing. It’s been a rough couple of races for Albon with three finishes of 18th or worse in the last four Grand Prix.
The good qualifying run is a solid sign for the Williams team, but can Albon hold on to ninth place all day is the real question. Two 11th place finishes at the Saudi and Australian Grand Prix are the the bright spots for Williams this season and I’m not convinced they are ready to top that with plenty of hungry drivers right behind them who have had better seasons.
Max Verstappen Better Than 5.0
Who would have ever guessed we’d see the day when Max Vertsappen’s fantasy finish was set at 5.0? Well, here we are. Verstappen just couldn’t find it in practice, tried too hard to overcompensate, and now has to start sixth. All he has to do is improve by one position to push this number and two to hit it. Verstappen has won five of seven rounds in the 2024 F1 Championship and won 19 of 23 in 2023. He should be able to at least gain two spots here.
