The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for May 18

Well, degens. Friday night’s entries were worse than a flaming bag of poop on your doorstep, going just one for three. But the NHL Playoffs are starting to round out nicely, and on Saturday night, there’s a Game 6 on the docket. The Canucks will head to Edmonton, where the Oilers will be fighting for their Playoff lives. Since we have just one game, The Quick Pick is going back to the tasty two-pack snack option. Here are tonight’s two best NHL Underdog Fantasy Picks for May 18.

The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for May 18

Connor McDavid Higher Than 0.5 Goals (1.1x Odds)

All season long, our loyal readers and tailers will recall I had sworn off using the Oilers star ever again. But the Oilers’ situation tonight is dire. They are on home ice and facing yet another Playoff elimination. So, if the biggest star in the game cannot tally a goal for us tonight, then what good even is he?!

All joking aside, McDavid has been just about average in their series against Vancouver. He’s tallied six points in five games but did have goose eggs in Games 3 and 5. However, our value-hunting glasses have pinpointed a key trend with old Connor. Looking back into the regular season, McDavid has gone scoreless for three games straight but then netted a goal in that fourth game. And this trend has now occurred three times over.

Well, Game 6 tonight will be that fourth game, with Connor having gone scoreless in his three prior. So, for goodness sake, Connor, go ahead and score tonight. Your team needs you, and The Quick Pick needs you. We’re taking Connor McDavid Higher Than 0.5 Goals in a must-win Game 6 for the Oilers.

Elias Lindholm Higher Than 0.5 Points (1.1x Odds)

On the other side of the benches for Game 6, the Canucks should feel a lot less pressure. While nobody really wants to go to a Game 7, the Canucks have the wiggle room here. And since coach Rick Tocchet called his team out for what sounded like a lack of effort, they’ve responded. Tonight’s second NHL Underdog entry will be the in-form Swedish center Elias Lindholm.

Since coming over to Vancouver mid-season, Lindholm has played fairly well. Here in the playoffs, particularly in the series against Edmonton, he’s ratcheted up the intensity. He has also taken the point-tallying up a couple of notches. In fact, coming into Game 6, Lindholm is working on a three-game point streak.

He has been putting pucks at or in the net but also has provided two helpers in each of Games 4 and 5. Tonight in Game 6, it seems that Lindholm is up to the challenge and can make it a fourth straight night with a point. And that little bit of spice at 1.1x Odds makes it all the more appetizing. So go ahead and mash that Higher Than 0.5 Points for Elias Lindholm, and let’s cash the two-pack snack!
