Much like you can bet on anything, you can make a drinking game out of anything. Maybe you’re getting together with a bunch of your buddies for the draft or throwing a big party. Either way, you might want to liven the party up a little, and we have the perfect guide for you. It’s time to unveil the 2024 NFL Draft Drinking Game.
Before we get started, let’s get the basics down. DRINK RESPONSIBLY. The Sports Gambling Podcast Network encourages you to drink responsibly and to be safe. Somebody doesn’t want to drink? No problem—they can drink water. Or, in honor of one of the draft candidates, drink Kool-Aid. These can be the smallest of sips or just regular drinks of beer, wine, mixed drinks, etc. Just use your best judgment and have fun.

Take A Sip
These are the things you will see the most often. The 2024 NFL Draft drinking game starts slowly with some sips. However, much like a -300 Moneyline, these sips are the favorites. You’ll see these things more often, and because of that, we recommend sipping for them.
Take one sip every time the following happens:
- Downtown Detroit, Ford Field, or a Motown landmark is shown or mentioned
- A player is labeled as having “raw talent” or “project”
- Your favorite team makes a selection
- Roger Goodell is booed (may need to limit yourself on that one)
- Instead of NFL, the announcers say “The National Football League”
- The Chiefs’ Super Bowl is mentioned
- A draft candidate is seen on the phone
- The same position is drafted back to back (this should start the night off by getting everybody a little loser)
- Somebody from Alabama or Georgia is drafted
- A candidate is described as being “a reach”
- An announcer mentions a mock draft
- Every time the announcer is correct in projecting the next pick
- You hear “high ceiling”, “passes the eye test”, or “high motor”
Take A Shot (or a bigger drink than a sip)
These are the items you don’t expect to see as much, but you know they’re going to happen at some point in the night. Your 2024 NFL Draft drinking game gets a little crazier when you start taking shots.
Take one shot every time the following happens:
- A trade takes place
- Players from the same school are selected back-to-back
- A player from a non-power 5 school is selected
- A player is described as “scrappy” or “sneaky athletic”
- A player is described as a “dog” or “gym rat”
- Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are mentioned in the same sentence
- A draft candidate cries when selected
- A draft candidate’s family member or significant other is comforting them when they aren’t getting drafted (aka the Will Levis treatment)
- A fan is shown booing or upset about their team’s pick
- Every quarterback selected in the first round after the first three
- A quarterback’s hand size is talked about
- Rich Eisen’s 40-yard dash, compared to prospects is shown
- A kicker or punter is drafted
- Goodell messes up a name
Chug The Rest Of Your Drink
These are the items you don’t expect to see, yet they happen. These are the +700 dogs that have some fight in them. If they happen, it’s time to chug your drink—the last and most extreme part of the 2024 NFL Draft drinking game! Also, if you’re drinking something with Kool-Aid, it’s a no-brainer to chug when he’s drafted.
- The announcers say they don’t understand a pick
- If J.J. McCarthy is one of the top three quarterbacks off the board
- A player’s video feed cuts out
- Five or more quarterbacks are drafted in the first round
