UFC Vegas 88: Tuivasa vs Tybura – Predictions & Best Bets

Ibo Aslan ML (-130) vs. Anton Turkalj

It might be counterintuitive to like a guy who is in a rematch with the only guy who beat him, but these are not normal circumstances. Aslan has looked great since he last faced ‘The Pleasure Man’. In all actuality, he was looking great in that fight as well until he got caught.

The opposite has been true for Turkalj, who has stuggled in the UFC. I think he’ll be there to get hit by Aslan, which has been proven to be a fight ender.

Rhys Mckee – Wins in Round 2 (+700)

McKee’s pace and his ability to keep it up for 15 minutes (or 25 for that matter) is impressive. In this fight, it happens to be that pace and pressure is his opponent’s biggest issue.

Not only has Chidi Njokuani had issues keeping up the pace, but he also is dropping down in weight to welterweight. He’s missed weight multiple times at 170lbs and once messed up his vocal chords trying to make it. Is McKee comes with that same pressure, the finish should be there in the second.

Bruno Silva ML (-225) vs Chris Weidman

Perhaps not the sexiest number on the board, but Silva should be a much larger favorite than this. He’s won by KO in eight straight fights and he’s fighting a guy who has issues with taking damage. Additionally, he’s shown some pretty decent takedown defense, which should make Weidman box with him long enough to get the job done.

Nursulton Ruziboev – Wins via (T)KO (+250)

Ruziboev is coming off of a devestating KO of Brunno Ferreira in his last fight, which he took on short notice. Now he gets a full camp against Sedriques Dumas – a fighter arguably less dangerous and who happens to be going through some real life turmoil at the moment.

This line is likely only this high because the books believe he’ll take Dumas down and submit him. However, feeling the taste of that last KO, I think he looks for another here.

Andre Petroski ML (+200) vs Jacob Malkoun

Petroski is being disrespected by the books and bettors due to his last loss to Michel Pereira. However, that loss has aged well and also didn’t really test the same skills we’ll see here. Malkoun is likely going to want to make this a grappling match. I think Petroski has the wreslting to either be in control of that or force Malkoun to strike with him.

Melissa Gatto ML (-155) vs Viktoria Dudakova

I mentioned the issues with Njokuani coming down in weight, here I have issue with Dudakova going up in weight. She went from being someone who can fall back on her physicality to being the fighter who is less strong. On top of that, I think he striking is a touch predictable and should be there for Gatto to piece up.
