The Dynasty NFL IDP Sleepers for balanced and tackle-based leagues are primed, but we will admit something before we do. This year’s class got pretty deep quickly. So if you think we’re talking about guys like inside linebacker Brian Asamoah in Minnesota—or other players like Nakobe Dean out in Philly. Or even perhaps the not so sleeping Ernest Jones for the Rams. Nope, think a little deeper but remember those names.
They are likely way better targets than these guys. Are you also looking for defensive linemen or edge rushers? You won’t find them here on this sleeper list. Those better Big Play format targets are in this Big Play IDP Sleeper Rankings.
Although for this format that we’re talking about in this article. It’s easy enough to apply the same order as needed for your particular scoring formats. Not to leave you hanging there. We suggest inserting them in dead center in balanced leagues, as you require your DL or Edge guys. Or drop them way down in all tackle-based formats or old-school leagues.
Either way that those might fit into your particular league. Always, always, and always look at last year’s results if possible. Or load a fake league even somewhere. And see the prior end-of-year results to see just how valuable your DLs really are. Always know your league’s positional values, then work on the talent part.

2023 NFL Dynasty NFL IDP Sleepers
Titians x2
Azeez Al-Shaair moving on from the 49ers to join the Titans might be too underrated. It is tough to say if the appreciation of what might happen exists or not at the moment. As we’ve put him on our IDP radars before, how underrated could Al-Shaair be? Remember those bigger names we mentioned floating around as our main toted “sleepers”?
Well, this guy is laying above-par odds that AL-Shaair ends up out-producing them all in 2023. Also noting, have a look at his log recorders because, technically the only reason he is sleeping. It is because the 49ers starters, Fred Warner and Drew Greenlaw, managed to stay healthy in 2022.
Especially in certain scoring formats that might reward LB big plays. Along with that anticipating will be that even deeper IDP sleeper. And co-starter ILB Monty Rice gets the bulk of production beyond the front five.
At least that’s not named Kevin Byrd. The defensive scheme can support two linebackers to a certain degree. So in deeper formats. Rice could carry LB2-type numbers on the season with occasional outlier LB1 performances. So he’s also clearly the handcuff to if we were wrong about Al-Shaeeir, which we doubt, but a bonus thought.
Falcons x2
It’s not very often we have a team offer two ILBs at some level in any given off-season. So having two solid ones to talk about this year is an outlier. Leading to Atlanta and our likely higher-end IDP sleeper, Kaden Eliss. Who granted it wasn’t a full sample?
Though we feel that PFF got it right in the grade (elite-like), and he’s on the verge of greatness with the Falcons for the next couple of seasons. Brought in, especially by the Falcon’s new defensive coordinator, Ryan Neilson. He was also known as the former 2022 Saint co-defensive coordinator. Both were brought in to run this new scheme in Atlanta, one to coach and the other to run it on the field of play.
When second-year linebacker Troy Anderson hasn’t the experience yet to do it correctly, he had minimal playing time last season, playing behind Rasshaan Evans, who’s now a FA, which lands Anderson as the deeper of the two IDP sleepers for the Falcons. All we have to do is keep in mind Mykal Walker is still there.
And Rashaan Evens is definitely a cheap treat to return if Anderson shows any sign of struggling. Although, via the local reports and anticipation around the organization. Indicating Anderson is safe to grab as a deeper target now and offer better dynasty value later. Kaden Elliss isn’t a young buck, so just by age alone. Anderson definitely has a better long-term outlook, but there’s still a lot to develop yet. At least from what we saw last season in the Falcon’s old defense, and PFF seems to agree with that call.
Raiders x1?
Technically, third-year Divine Deablo makes this list, just not so deep. After a lot of flashing, it’s left everyone already ready as he comes off a 2022 season hampered by an injury. That cost him his breakout last season. It is so being an IDP dynasty Sleeper before we move on to the real deep target. Robert Spillane.
Yes, he’s not got a huge amount of IDP production over his long career with the Steelers. Although, keep in mind, he did flash at times by pure volume in Pittsburgh when other ILBs had lots of problems.
What Spillane may bring the most is stability as an NFL player. So with Denzel Perryman now in Houston. That will likely be exactly what he’ll offer if he is the starting MLB next to Diablo in 2023, as rumored. Not to mention the obvious choice to start the season by simply looking at the Raider’s depth chart at LB. The thing here is. Spillane’s IDP dynasty sleeper ceiling is dictated by Divine Diablo’s availability.
No Diablo, we are talking deep, deep IDP dynasty sleeper appeal for a couple of seasons out of Spillane. Don’t laugh. Look at the depth chart in case it changes. It’s possible and defiantly worth the Hail Mary deep pick right now. Who knows, maybe later on, someone like Deion Jones or Rashaan Evans is signed, and that all changes.
Bills x3?
It’s nothing personal against the rookie Dorian Williams, but I’m not underestimating anything. A.J. Klein has years of experience and has had decent years of performances. He’s very capable of running this defense as he had back in the day as a Bill before, as well as other teams. So with that said, we can’t quite call him an IDP dynasty sleeper at his age? Either way, he was brought back for a purpose, and if that’s for a one-year starter spot, I’m game.
Here is what we can say. If this is the case, and Klein has returned to give this linebacker core another veteran. Besides, Matt Milano and a guy who has plenty to the table in leadership and is a been there done that player. Then let’s project past what we’ve seen in the past from this Bill defense.
Suggesting that Terrel Bernard has the same dynasty upside this season if he can win it as the rookie. The advantage of this deeper IDP sleeper? He’s not half the cost of Dorian Williams right now to acquire because the word rookie can’t be used.
Figured the angle out yet? We’re considering the worst-case scenario over any player’s draft stock or talent. Keeping in mind, why exactly would the Bills feed the rookie to the wolves his first year in the season? They have a solid veteran that could at least hold the ship down and run the defense.
I mean, at what point was Dorian Williams labeled an instant first-round talent anyhow? It’s not like the odds are he”slipped” to them, or he’ll dominate the Bills veterans. Many also say that this year’s class was down when last year’s rookie class was decently solid. Which also includes us.
The Baffling Conclusion
Hence, at cost, this year, Klein is a really deeper deep redraft target as a two-down thumper. And likely the winner, in the end, to start the season when he’s not caught out of position when the pads come on. Terrel Benard is coming in as our later dynasty IDP Sleeper at a much cheaper rate than Williams.
Which is more than likely. He’ll be long gone before we even think about anyone else besides Matt Milano in Buffalo this year. And you can kind of laugh at this one because you know it’ll happen at some point. After all, we all eventually get that rookie IDP hype works for the dark side of the force.
Dynasty NFL IDP DB Sleepers
Pausing to remind everyone for a moment. This is mentioning a great deep dynasty IDP sleeper for non-big play formats. So we’re leaning on more tackles than passes defended or such in most cases.
At least when projecting and thinking about core stats that can be repeated by volume, while also suggesting that defensive backs are always dime a dozen, even in most deep formats. So besides possibly those deepest Buffalo Bill linebackers. We suggest every LB over DB in this article. Relying on hitting it bigger, deeper Dynasty NFL IDP Sleepers on positional value. Over one, you can make a claim on the waiver wires for beans during the first month of the season.
Alontae Taylor – Saints Cornerback
Lewis Cine – Vikings Safety
Do not let Lewis Cine being only a depth piece last year as a reason to avoid him late. Whoever has these safety positions will be busy as the Vikings pass rush ages even more. Not forgetting that sort of bust and former DE switching to OLB, Marcus Davenport is now there as a starter. Slicing in half what was a very formidable older tandem with Danielle Hunter.
No, thank you there, but the IDP dynasty shot on Cine is looking hot after landing on the IR after suffering a compound-leg fracture in London last season. So whether it’s because last year’s starter Camryn Bynum struggled in the role. Or the fact that eventually, Harrison Smith retires, reconstructed contracts or not. We do lean toward the former over the latter this year. As long as the Vikings give Cine his clean shot this year for real this time, we may have a Dynasty NFL IDP Sleeper.
Dax Hill – Bengals Defensive
Likely not as deep as a name as a deeper option as he might be. As of OTA reports, Dax Hill is in the midst of the Bengal’s defense. By current reports is playing alongside former Ram Nick Scott at safety and filling the spots left by Jessie Bates (Falcons) and Vonn Bell (Panthers) after moving on in the free agency. So why may he be slipping as a deep IDP dynasty sleeper? It might be everyone is questioning this new secondary as a group.
If that’s the case. Why wouldn’t I get the one clear option they have in that secondary? Just to see if, like Jessie Bates back, his first couple of seasons can be duplicated. I’ll throw in right now we can expect Bates to flashback to the golden age of IDP production as well this year. And Vonn Bell, not so much, or at least willing to go there with that crowded secondary in Carolina. Leading me right back on topic. Asking again why they wouldn’t Dax Hill be a DB1 this year and debunking it from there, whether it’s deep or not.
