Nevertheless, All-Star Weekend is a great opportunity for the NHL to grow the game — even if that opportunity is missed at times — and it provides us with some fun moments and events. Discover NHL Tendy Tandem™

Eight goaltenders will participate in this event, with one goalie from each division designated the shooting goalie and one the in-net goalie. The shooting goalies will earn points based on the accuracy of their shots at the net, and the in-net goalies will face rushes of three, two or one player(s), based on the number of points earned by the shooting goalie in their tandem.

Competition takes place on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The ocean spray, breeze and sand add to the challenge of this exceptional Skills event, as four pairs of players fire at targets to attempt to dunk their opponents.

Upper Deck NHL Fastest Skater™

Cale Makar and Dylan Larkin look to be the favorites here. Makar is one of the fastest young defensemen in the game and Larkin already won the competition in 2016.

Given the odds, I’m leaning to Makar at +320 but will shop around before placing a bet. I wouldn’t hate a sprinkle on either of the last two at 5/1 and 6/1 as well.

Honda NHL Accuracy Shooting™

Sebastian Aho, who is known more for his passing ability than his shot, won this competition last year with a perfect performance in 10.9 seconds. This competition is usually a bit more wide open as anyone can have a good heat and steal it. I’ll be eyeing up smaller bets on a longshot or two here.

Hayes and Nelson at 11/1? Sure, why not. Hughes, Panarin, and Tarasenko are also worth a look.

GEICO NHL Hardest Shot™

With no Victor Hedman in the field, Alex Ovechkin should be the favorite in this one. He topped out at 101.3 mph to win the event in 2018.
