With college basketball dominating the television landscape over the weekend, we might lose sight that there’s even more basketball to win money on this weekend. The NBA is bringing you primetime action over on NBA TV between the red-hot Hornets and the Mavericks. The Hornets have won three straight with none of the wins coming by less than ten points. The Mavericks aren’t trailing all that too far behind, with wins in three of their last four. With all these hot hands, there are more than a couple of NBA player props I’m excited about. Go here if you’re looking for NBA Championship odds.

Saturday Night NBA Player Props: Mavericks vs Hornets
LaMelo Ball Assists – Over 7.5
The Mavericks have one of the stingiest defenses in the league. Part of what makes it so good is that they don’t let a team’s best player beat them. Last night, they held James Harden to a mere 24 points and made the Sixers spread out the scoring (seven different players on the Sixers scored at least eight points). With that being said, I think they’re going to make Charlotte work away from Ball. He’s always been willing to dish instead of score and his assists have been up over the last three games anyway. So this NBA player prop seems ripe for the picking.
Luka Doncic Points – Over 30.5
Luka had a rare down night scoring last night. Against Philadelphia, he only managed 17 points. It’s really rare that Luka has that kind of down game, but it’s even rarer for him to have two of those back-to-back. I already think that’s a reason to be bullish on his scoring for tonight, but when you add on that Charlotte is 28th in the league in opponent’s scoring, you have to feel even better about this NBA player prop.
Mason Plumlee Points – Over 6.5
Okay, so maybe this isn’t the sexist NBA player prop. Not too many people are out there googling Mason Plumlee props, but the guy is on a nice little streak. He’s had more than 6.5 points in three of his last four games – including a double-double last time out on Wednesday. In addition, the number of boards he’s pulling down on the offensive side of things gives me a lot of hope for some easy putback numbers.
