Ok, UFC Vegas 38 didn’t go quite as planned with my UFC picks nor my DraftKings lineup. But the good thing about the UFC is that there is always another event just around the corner, and this week is no different. UFC Fight Night: Dern vs Rodriguez goes down from the UFC Apex on Saturday afternoon – here is my UFC Vegas 39 DraftKings lineup that will (hopefully) win us some dough.

Randy Brown – $8,800
Let’s kick off the proceedings in the co-main event and grab the favored ‘Rude Boy’ Randy Brown. Brown is much better than his opponent this week, Jared Gooden, so he should be able to win this fight regardless of what realm it takes place in. Plus he went off for 110 fantasy points in his last fight and has topped 90 points in three of his last four.
Lupita Godinez – $8,600
First off, you have to back a fighter named ‘Loopy’, right?! But in all seriousness, I like Lupita Godinez in her matchup this weekend as she’s fighting a debuting fighter, Silvana Gomez Juarez, who is taking this fight on just a few days’ notice. While Godinez only posted 44 points in her UFC debut, she should fare much better in fight number two inside the octagon.
Matheus Nicolau – $8,500
Flyweight Matheus Nicolau has the potential for big fantasy point returns for his owners, as he’s had 117 and 122 point nights among his five UFC appearances. He’s going up against a game veteran, Tim Elliott, this week that I think Nicolau outclasses, at least on the feet. Look for him to win a striking battle and get us some nice points in return.
Sabina Mazo – $8,300
Women’s flyweight prospect Sabina Mazo is also prone to big fantasy point nights. The 24-year-old ‘Columbian Queen’ has gone off for 125, 108 and 81 points in her three UFC wins (and 27 in both of her losses). I think this Saturday will be another one of those efforts, as I have her pegged to beat fellow 24-year-old Mariya Agapova.
Marina Rodriguez – $8,000
Next, I dip into the main event to get one half of it at a fairly cheap price. While Mackenzie Dern is a killer on the mat, she isn’t so great at getting her opponent down plus is still a work-in-progress in the striking department. Meanwhile, Marina Rodriguez excels on the feet and has been a very consistent mid-80s fantasy point performer in her last two fights.
Charles Rosa – $7,800
Finally, I’m grabbing Charles ‘Boston Strong’ Rosa on the cheap as the last addition to my UFC Vegas 39 DraftKings lineup. He’s in a grappler vs grappler battle this weekend against Damon Jackson that I like Rosa to come out of on top. Plus, even in defeat, he posts decent fantasy numbers.
