DraftKings Millionaire Maker Picks Thanksgiving

DraftKings Thanksgiving Millionaire Maker Picks

This Thanksgiving will be a tough one for many of us. Hopefully you are able to find some joy in the midst of the madness. One thing that can bring that joy is the gift of turkey day football. That classic Cowboys versus, um, Football Team rivalry taking center stage, the Lions roaring amidst the stuffing, it all seems so normal. But, as if 2020 couldn’t keep from reminding us how much that is not true, we find ourselves down a primetime game. The Steelers and Ravens will no longer play Thursday night. Instead they will be moved to Sunday making it an interesting change in your DraftKings Thanksgiving Millionaire Maker Picks.

This means the game is no longer eligible for the Thanksgiving main slate on Draftkings. You may be finding out about this now leaving you scrambling to put together another lineup. Here’s where I can help. Here are four players I like for this slate as well as a full lineup. Hopefully this will help if you find your back against the wall and need a quick lineup. This should work well in both cash and your Milly Maker entry.

As always, the players below are not meant to be considered a “core four.” These are simply players to consider as you are building your lineups. Play one, play them all, it is entirely up to you. My job is to help you see the reasoning behind selecting these players and how they can help you win.

D’Andre Swift: $6,800 RB Detroit

Keep an eye on the early morning inactives for this one. Should Swift play, he is sitting in the best position to produce on the entire slate. The Lions draw the league’s worst defense against the rush. Houston is last in the league in yards per game (159.3), and total rushing yards allowed (1,593).

Swift is coming off back to back weeks of solid production. Two weeks ago, he carried the ball 13 times for 64 yards. He also caught 3 of his 5 targets for 33 yards and a touchdown. If he is cleared to play, he has a golden opportunity to collect similar production. The Texans have been worked over by pass catching backs a couple of times this season. James White went 6 for 64 last week against them. Derrick Henry went 5 for 52 early in the year. All signs point to Swift having a big day. If he plays. That said, have Adrian Peterson ($4,700) waiting in the wings for a quick swap if Swift is forced to sit this out.

Antonio Gibson $6,000 RB Washington

Like Swift, this Gibson play is all about the matchup. Washington has the pleasure of squaring off against the second worst team in the league against the rush. The Dallas Cowboys are a mere 7 yards away from the Texans for the bottom of the barrel. They are allowing an average of 153.8 yards per game. They have been taken to task by multiple backs this season including Gibson himself.

In their last meeting, the rookie dressed down the Cowboys to the tune of 128 yards on 20 carries and a trip to the endzone. Dallas is coming off of a game against Dalvin Cook where they surrendered similar results. Gibson is fresh off a 94 yard performance against the Bengals in which he also found paydirt. The ingredients are there for a huge outing in the traditional Thanksgiving main event. Hopefully Washington will get the recipe right for a feast of fantasy points.

Marvin Jones Jr. $5,500 WR Detroit

Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola have been ruled out for this week. This leaves the Marvin twins as the two most seasoned and reliable wideouts on the roster. The Lions did call up Mohamed Sanu from the practice roster and could make for an interesting play in his own right. But, Jones will likely step into the number one target for Matthew Stafford especially if Swift can’t play.

Jones enjoyed his best outing of the season two week ago snaring 8 of 10 targets for 96 yards and a touchdown against Washington. Last week he came back down slightly managing 4 catches for 51 yards failing to find the endzone for the first time in four games. With Stafford short on weapons, expect to see another double digit target day for Jones. Also worth mentioning, the Texans have surrendered 14 touchdowns to wide receivers this season. That is the third most in the league. I like Jones to find a way to score again this week making him a solid play for your DraftKings Thanksgiving Millionaire Maker lineups.

Jordan Akins $2,900 TE Houston

This slate needs little in the way of salary relief. The lack of a third game and key injuries make roster construction a bit easier. But, Akins is a cheap play that may make sense as well as provide relief if you find yourself needing it. He has come on as what appears to be the top tight end option for the Texans. Akins enters Thanksgiving having posted his best of the season against the Patriots. In it, he caught 5 passes for 83 yards. He’s got a lot of upside for his price tag. If he manages to break a short pass in the red zone free for a touchdown, he’ll certainly be worth the price.
