Monday Night Football Player Props Week 5

Monday Night Football Player Props Week 5

Drew Brees has achieved some of his top career accomplishments on Monday Night Football. And this could be his final appearance. The Saints have been up and down this year. Last week they looked ‘up’ in a come from behind win over Detroit. The Chargers are 1-3, but have found their quarterback of the future in rookie Justin Herbert. They officially named him the starter earlier this week. I’m looking forward to seeing fireworks in The Big Easy and these Monday Night Football player props.

Monday Night Football Player Props

Alvin Kamara – RB, New Orleans Over 52.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Michael Thomas will again be out for this game. Look for Alvin Kamara to continue to be the focal point of the offense. He has 30 receptions on the year and averages nearly nine targets per game. As versatile as any player in the league, he can score every time he touches the ball. The New Orleans deep passing game has been nonexistent. That makes Kamara the most valuable player on the Saints offense and a great pick for Monday Night Football player props.

Justin Herbert – QB, Los Angeles Chargers Over 257.5 Passing Yards (-114)

Herbert has been impressive in his three career NFL games. He is averaging 310 yards passing per game while completing 72% of his passing attempts. The Chargers lost  Austin Ekeler last week. That hurts their running game and may need to rely on the passing game more than normal. The city of New Orleans denied the Saints request to have fans attend the game. Since the Superdome is one of the loudest stadiums in the league, that normally would’ve been a much more challenging atmosphere for a rookie quarterback like Herbert.

Latavius Murray – RB, New Orleans Over 36.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

The Saints need to establish the run game without their top receiver Michael Thomas in the lineup. Murray is a strong and physical runner who is a force late in games when defenses are worn down. He’s run over 36 yards in three out of four games. Last week, he rushed for 64 yards in the win over the Lions. Murray should go over this number in Monday Night Football player props, especially if New Orleans is leading in the fourth quarter.

Keenan Allen – WR, Los Angeles Chargers Over 6.5 Receptions (-135)

The Saints have some talented cornerbacks in Marshon Lattimore and Janoris Jenkins, but I still like Allen in this matchup. Allen is seeing a ridiculous number of targets and Herbert looks for him on virtually every pass play. He is one of the top route runners in the NFL and is living up to his big contract extension he signed just last month. Allen hasn’t let me down yet, and I’m going to ride with him again tonight.
