Welcome to Week 4 of the National Football League. For the first time this year, the NFL may be dealing with Covid issues that could cancel or delay a games. Keep this in mind while deciding on your NFL Week 4 Survivor Pool Picks.
We had some upsets last Sunday (Panthers over Chargers and Lions over Cardinals, most notably) so hopefully you are still with us. Maybe you even read last week’s column and jumped with me on the Colts who demolished the Jets 36-7.
Ok, enough with the rear view, let’s set our sights on this coming week.
NFL Week 4 Survivor Pool Picks
Seattle Seahawks (– 6.5 @ Miami Dolphins)
My personal campaign for Kyler Murray to be MVP may be taking a backseat to Russell Wilson. Danger-Russ has been balling out, totaling 925 yards and 14 TD’s thru the first three weeks of the season.
On the other hand, Fitzmagic and the ‘Fins played New England and Buffalo close in their two losses before waxing the Jags last Thursday. The Seahawks should take care of business, but it’s a long road trip for a 1PM ET kickoff and Miami has a couple extra days to prepare. Let’s go elsewhere.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-7.5 vs Los Angeles Chargers)
Are the Chargers the team that almost beat KC or the team that struggled mightily against the Bengals and lost to the Panthers? Also, who the hell is starting at QB?
Meanwhile, are the Bucs any good? Wins over the Panthers and the injury-riddled Broncos don’t mean much. I expect Tampa to get the win but there are currently too many question marks surrounding both teams.
Green Bay Packers (-7.5 vs Atlanta Falcons)
The Falcons are 0-3 and their coach is on the verge (again) of being fired. You have to wonder if there’s any fight left in this dog. The Packers are in Lambeau on a Monday night and Aaron Rodgers has been playing excellent football.
However, the Packers have given up 34, 21, and 30 points in their three wins this season while the Falcons have scored 25, 39, and 26 points in their three losses. This could be a shootout and the Falcons are desperate. I’ll pick elsewhere.
Think you know who is gonna win it all this season? Go here for Super Bowl odds.
Los Angeles Rams (-12 vs New York Giants)
The Giants are awful. They have a horrendous offensive line, a bad defense, and no Saquon. Not a recipe for success. The Rams are a double-digit favorite, are playing at home, and should be pissed about losing to the Bills on a couple questionable calls (see below). Rams roll here. Lock it up.

Baltimore Ravens (-13 @ Washington Football Team)
Expect a can of whoop ass to be opened up on Washington come Sunday. It’s a bounce back spot for the Ravens after the loss to KC. Harbaugh will have his team ready roll. The Football Team’s one strength is the D Line and they just put Matt Ioannidis on the IR and Chase Young is dealing with a groin injury. They’ll have no answer for Lamar Jackson and the Raven Offense.
Without fans at Fedex, it’s basically a home game for the Ravens who will make the short drive down 95 and make short work of Washington.
