PGA Tour Daily Fantasy Golf Picks: Northern Trust Championship

It’s playoff time!! The FedExCup playoffs do not carry as much weight as the majors, but it still provides three excellent weeks of golf. Even more important, three weeks of excellent Daily Fantasy Golf Picks!

Week 1 of the three-leg playoffs will be at TPC Boston. That course formerly hosted the Dell Technologies tournaments, as well as several other PGA events. This course should challenge the players. Its length will require golfers to be good off the tee, which we have focused on below.

Bryson DeChambeau $11,100

The last time we saw TPC Boston on the PGA tour was in 2018 at the Dell Technologies Championship. Bryson edged out Justin Rose to win this event with a score of -16. Bryson’s game hasn’t changed one bit since then, so we expect him to attack the course the same. He’s been excellent off the tee and with the flat stick. Those factors make him one of our top daily fantasy golf picks.

Jason Day $9,300

Jason Day is finally starting to look like the former world’s number one we are used to seeing. After struggling with back problems for last few seasons, Jason Day seems healthy and is find his groove. Day has four top 10 finishes in a row. With Day’s recent numbers, he should have himself another great weekend. He is gaining 2.5 strokes putting, 3.1 on approach and 5.9 tee to green in the past 5 events. There is no reason to believe Day is going to start cooling off now.

Tony Finau $8,800

Tony is another golfer coming into the playoffs red hot. He placed fourth at the PGA. He is a long hitter who fits this course nicely. He gained an impressive 10.5 strokes tee to green and 7.5 on approach. Not only is Big Tony a bomber, but he is also a great bent grass green putter. Everything aligns for Finau to be in contention Sunday.

Matthew Wolff- $7,800

As we target bombers this week, Matthew Wolff fits the mold and at $7,800 a great price for this bomber. If Wolff plays like he did at the PGA watch out! He gained a ridiculous 14.1 strokes tee to green, 7.3 off the tee and 7.3 on approach. The biggest concern going this weekend is his ability to putt. Wolff like many bombers is not a great putter and bentgrass is not his preferred surface.

Doc Redman-$7,400

Another 22 year old who is quickly becoming a household name in the PGA posted his second top 5 finish last week at the Wyndham, and we expect him to keep it rolling. Since the restart he’s been top 30 five times, only missing the cut at The Memorial and 3M with top 15’s at Wyndham and Travelers. He’s an excellent ball striker and we expect him to perform off the tee and in long approach categories this week in Foxborough.

Jason Kokrak, $6,800

Kokrak posted a T24 -7 finish at the Dell in 2018, including a 66 on Sunday. Combine that with his ability to mash off the tee, and his 15th finish at the Wyndham last week, we feel he’s a great play if you need someone under $7k. If he can match the field around the greens and putting he can go very low on this course.
