NFL Wildcard Weekend Odds And Betting Trends

An upset in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs seems more likely to happen on Saturday than on Sunday. That is, if you consider the NFL odds on this weekend’s four games at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The two matchups on Saturday both have home favorites listed at two points or less, starting with an AFC South battle between the Houston Texans (11-5) and Indianapolis Colts (10-6).

The Texans are consensus 1.5-point favorites hosting the Colts, who have won 26 of the past 34 meetings between them straight up, according to the OddsShark NFL Database. The teams split two regular-season games this season, with each winning on the other’s home field. Indianapolis has covered three of the last four in the series.

On Saturday night, the Seattle Seahawks (10-6) visit the Dallas Cowboys (10-6) as two-point road underdogs in a rematch from a regular-season meeting as well. The Seahawks have fared well in prime time recently, going 25-6-4 against the spread in their previous 35 night games. Seattle also beat Dallas 24-13 in Week 3 as a one-point home favorite behind 102 rushing yards from running back Chris Carson.

Sunday’s games are a little more favorable for the home teams with slightly larger point spreads at online sports betting sites. First, the Baltimore Ravens (10-6) are 2.5-point home favorites against the Los Angeles Chargers (12-4) in a rematch from Week 16. Baltimore won the first meeting 22-10 at Los Angeles as a four-point road underdog. The Chargers have won their last six road games though while the Ravens are 1-5 ATS in their past six at home.

Finally, the Chicago Bears (12-4) will close out the weekend’s action on Sunday by hosting the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles (9-7) as six-point home favorites on the point spread. The Eagles are expected to have quarterback Nick Foles under center despite some sore ribs he suffered in last week’s 24-0 rout of the Washington Redskins.

The Bears have lost the previous three meetings both SU and ATS by an average of nearly 29 points, but they are 5-0 SU and ATS in their last five home games.
