Week 10 college football picks podcast

College Football Week 10 Preview & Picks Recap

Colby Dant (@TheColbyD) and Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) are joined by CJ Sullivan (@CJSullivan_) as The College Football Experience on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its run with Week 10 college football picks. Ryan McIntyre rides West Virginia on the money line in Lubbock, and Colby Dant grabs Miami plus 8.5 at Notre Dame.

Is West Virginia live at plus 600 against Texas Tech? Does Notre Dame cover now that the line has jumped to 8.5? Can Michigan State knock off Michigan at plus 400? Does Utah get revenge in the Holy War? Is Boston College the dirtiest dog on the board? We talk it all and more on this episode of The College Football Experience.

The Week 10 College Football Picks Open With A Thursday Hammer

Colby Dant comes in hot off a big week, and the MACtion is still running while the show records. The guys are sweating Sac State plus 25.5 in real time. But last week left one scar. Everybody was on Charlotte on the money line against Tulane. Ryan McIntyre also had that leg parlayed with Sac State and Baylor, and it would have won 10 grand. Tulane got there instead. So Thursday is a clean slate. All three of them back FAU with the points at home against UTSA, because a road UTSA team is a different beast. CJ Sullivan keeps the read simple, and he calls the Owls live on the money line too.

The real hammer is JMU. The Dukes come off back-to-back losses and lay 14.5 at Southern Miss. Colby Dant and Mac double lock them because they expect something like a 21- or 28-point margin. Mac watched both losses in person. He will not be there this time, and he calls that the lock. The Bet Detective sees one risk, since JMU’s season goals got ripped away. But Southern Miss is bad, so he takes JMU as a no bet. Earlier on the Thursday card, Colby Dant wants Howard plus 15.5 against South Carolina State. Mac takes South Carolina State, and the Bet Detective then sides with Howard for fun.

Friday Night Splits From Greenville To The Desert

Friday opens in Greenville, where ECU hosts South Florida. The line is 1.5 or 2.5 depending on the shop, and the total sits at 38.5. Colby Dant and Ryan McIntyre lock the Pirates. The Bet Detective likes the South Florida points a little, then still takes ECU as a no bet. Next comes the first real split of the night. SMU lays 5.5 against Virginia Tech with a 56.5 total, and Colby Dant rides the Hokies. The Bet Detective agrees because he does not trust SMU at all. He also liked the Hokies even more at 6.5, so he passes on a bet. Mac takes the Pony Express and flips the fraud label, since to him the 6-2 Hokies own the fraudulent record.

Nebraska lays 4.5 at Illinois with the total at 49.5, and Colby Dant and Mac take the Illini on the money line. The Bet Detective is right there with them. He thinks Illinois is a different team with its quarterback back from a hand injury, and he cannot stop laughing at last week’s Matt Rhule loss. Then the guys lock Nevada on the money line at home against New Mexico. The Bet Detective takes Nevada too, but he skips the money line in a rivalry game with a 37.5 total. Late Friday, TCU visits Arizona, and that one becomes a triple lock on the Wildcats. The Bet Detective thinks the Arizona offense is ready to explode, and he also likes a pass rush he has at 25 sacks.

Saturday Starts In The Dome And Ends In Chestnut Hill

Saturday starts in the Dome. Clemson lays 2.5 at Syracuse with a 50.5 total, and Colby Dant is on the Orange now that Steve Angeli is back. His case is the Fran Brown record with a healthy starting quarterback. The Bet Detective joins him because he thinks Syracuse has not quit on Brown, and Dabo struggles there all the time. Mac battles both of them with a Clemson lock. He has taken Syracuse five straight times, so this is his Dabo revenge spot. Missouri then gets the Colby Dant and Bet Detective vote as a home dog against Texas laying 2.5, but neither bets it. Mac hooks the Horns. Tulsa also gets two votes at Tulane, while the Bet Detective takes Tulane for no reason.

Boston College is the triple lock that matters most in this window. Florida State fired Mike Norvell, and the guys see no coaching bump for a Florida team heading to Chestnut Hill in November. Mac calls it the week after the week, because everyone fled BC after last week’s beating. So the triple lock lands on BC plus 6.5. Minnesota is the next dog play. UCLA lays 5.5 in Minneapolis with a 10 a.m. local kick, and Colby Dant and Mac double lock the Gophers. Mac sees a 20-17 game, while Colby Dant thinks it looks more like 10-6. The Bet Detective takes Minnesota without betting. Finally, UConn gets a triple lock with the points against a North Carolina team that has been fighting every week.

The Holy War, A Waco Battle And Diaz Rumors

The Holy War kicks at 10 a.m. local, and Colby Dant will be at Rice-Eccles for it. He is betting Utah minus 5.5, on the belief that BYU will be without L.J. Martin. Mac locks Utah too and sees a 27-17 type game, since he thinks BYU has overachieved for three years. But the Bet Detective goes to battle with the Cougars. His view is that BYU covers whether it wins or loses, and he has this as a field goal game around 24-21. Then the show heads to Waco, where Baylor lays 9.5 against Iowa State. Colby Dant lays it. The Bet Detective and Mac double lock the Cyclones instead. Mac also wants the money line after Aidan Flora ran 29 times for 221 yards.

Purdue is a triple lock against Maryland, because the Boilermakers sit at 3-5 and need this one for any bowl path. Then Duke at NC State turns on the coaching rumors. Colby Dant still takes Duke but backs off a bet with Manny Diaz linked to Florida State. Mac and the Bet Detective double lock NC State, and Mac wants it outright. The Bet Detective also brings the look-ahead angle, since Diaz has Miami next week. Oklahoma State lays 5.5 at Kansas State with a 62.5 total. Colby Dant and the Bet Detective bet the Cowboys because K-State still lacks Avery Johnson. Mac battles with the K-State home dog in a rivalry spot. Meanwhile, everyone takes the points in Arkansas at Auburn, no bet.

Afternoon Dogs With Money Lines Worth A Sprinkle

The afternoon gets rich with dogs. Texas A&M is a triple lock at South Carolina, and Colby Dant is playing the 6.5 points and the money line at plus 225. His reason is the Alabama game, where the Aggies took a three-point lead into the fourth quarter in Tuscaloosa. They are also off a bye. Marshall is next. The Thundering Herd catch 10.5 at Georgia Southern, and Colby Dant likes the money line at plus 300. That is another triple lock. Then Temple gets plus 7.5 and plus 230 at Navy from Colby Dant and Mac. It also ends up as the top play on his personal list. The Bet Detective, a Temple man, battles by laying it with Navy because he thinks the Temple defense is terrible.

Arkansas State lays 14.5 against ULM in the Rice Bowl, and after some back and forth it becomes a triple lock. Mac remembers Monroe beat them outright last year, so he flips from no bet to a lock. App State lays 6.5 against Georgia State, and that is a triple lock too with Camden Brown still out at quarterback. Colby Dant and Mac also bet Old Dominion plus 6.5 at Coastal Carolina, because Coastal isn’t very good defensively. The Bet Detective takes the Monarchs without betting. Delaware lays 1.5 at Kennesaw State, and the Bet Detective locks the Blue Hens because of their quarterback. Colby Dant and Mac take Delaware too, but neither bets it.

Ducks, Huskies And Jaylin Lane Kiffin Signature Win

Alabama catches 5.5 at LSU, and Colby Dant takes the Tide with the money line in play. Mac and the Bet Detective both go LSU. Mac wants it by double digits as a Lane Kiffin signature win, because he does not think Alabama is very good. Houston lays 10.5 against Cincinnati, and Mac locks the Cougars since Satterfield in November is a fade. Merrimack catches 47.5 at Wake, and Colby Dant expects Gio Lopez to sit, so the Warriors get locked up. Washington lays 2.5 against Penn State in a triple lock that Mac calls handicapping 101. Mac also locks Western Kentucky at minus 1.5 in the 100 Miles of Hate. Meanwhile, Colby Dant takes Middle Tennessee without betting.

Oregon catching 8.5 at Ohio State is a triple lock. Colby Dant thinks people miss how easily the Ducks could land in the Big Ten title game. They would be favored in the other three games if they win here. Mac has enjoyed fading Ohio State all year, so he calls the Buckeyes frauds again. The Bet Detective then brings the number that matters: Oregon is fifth in the country in adjusted EPA allowed. He also notes that the Ohio State offense struggled for points against a mediocre USC defense. Mac floats that Ohio State could quit with some adversity, and Colby Dant shuts that down fast. But the Ducks plus the points stay the pick for all three.

Big Numbers, Border Battles And The Rutgers Triple Lock

Kansas lays 3.5 against UCF, and Mac bets the Jayhawks with cold, windy weather coming for a Florida team. Rutgers catches 17.5 at Wisconsin, and that becomes a triple lock because nobody trusts Wisconsin to score that much. The Bet Detective puts it plainly, since Wisconsin should not be laying 17 to anybody. Sam Houston State also catches 17.5 after Phil Longo was fired. Colby Dant and Mac double lock it and sprinkle the first-half and game money lines. Then Colorado State gets the foxhole treatment against Boise State laying 17.5, so Mac and the Bet Detective lock the Rams. Colby Dant takes them too. Meanwhile, the Bet Detective likes the under 64.5 in Rice at North Texas.

Kentucky plus 6.5 at Tennessee is a numbers play for Colby Dant. The Vols have a top 20 rushing attack, but Kentucky has a top 30 run defense. Kentucky’s pass defense ranks 114th, and Tennessee is 118th passing the ball, so he sprinkles the Wildcats. The Bet Detective takes Kentucky as a no bet and also likes the under. Mac battles with Rocky Top. South Alabama catches 7.5 at Louisiana, and Colby Dant locks it with a money line sprinkle at plus 240. Troy then gets Colby Dant and Mac against LaTech laying 4.5. FIU minus 5.5 is a double lock against Missouri State. And San Jose State gets a double lock from Mac and the Bet Detective against Northern Illinois.

Notre Dame, Sparty And The Prime Time Battles

Notre Dame was laying 5.5 against Miami, but a Miami receiver’s injury pushed the line to 8.5. Colby Dant grabs Miami plus 8.5 anyway and sees a 21-17 game. The Bet Detective calls it the ultimate revenge spot, because this is the game that kept Notre Dame out of the playoff last year. So he locks the Irish. Mac lays the number too and has Notre Dame by 10. Georgia at Ole Miss splits differently. Ole Miss gets 3.5 at home, and Colby Dant takes the points since the Rebels are in a must-win spot. Mac bets Georgia, while the Bet Detective likes Ole Miss at home without betting. Then Air Force plus 3.5 at Army closes the window as a triple lock with money line action.

Michigan State is the get-rich play. The Spartans catch 13.5 against Michigan at plus 400, and Colby Dant bets the points and both money lines. Michigan has Oregon on deck, and Mac also thinks a year-one coach can pick off a rival in prime time. Iowa at Northwestern is another split. Northwestern lays 2.5, and Mac and the Bet Detective love the Wildcats at home. The Bet Detective has them 4-1 straight up under Braun after a road loss, with an average score of 34-21. Colby Dant still rides the Hawkeyes. Next, Mac and the Bet Detective lock Arizona State against Colorado plus 3.5. Liberty laying 17.5 is a triple lock, and Oklahoma plus 6.5 in the Swamp gets a double lock.

Moneyline Mac Drives 20 Hours To Lubbock

West Virginia catching 17.5 at Texas Tech is the loudest moment of the show. Colby Dant got on board once Tommy Castellanos became the Texas Tech starter. The Red Raiders ran a ton of option read last week, and Rich Rod is the godfather of that look. So he takes the points and sprinkles both money lines, with the game price at plus 600. Mac is driving 20 hours to Lubbock with a coonskin cap on the dashboard. He wants the Mountaineers outright, not the points. He also reminds everyone what happened at TCU and against Virginia at 3 to 1. His speech turns this into a quadruple lock, and the Bet Detective admits he cannot go against it.

The rest of the late window moves fast. Fresno lays 2.5 at Utah State, and the Aggies are a triple lock with Fresno off its big win over BYU. UNLV lays 5.5 against Wyoming after the line came down from 7. Colby Dant calls UNLV a smash spot but stays away. Mac and the Bet Detective double lock the Cowboys because the UNLV defense is trash. Then Oregon State lays 6.5 against Texas State, and the slate closes with a triple lock on the Beavers. Hawaii laying 9.5 at UTEP stays a no bet. The guys see rain and 45 degrees in El Paso, and that is a rough night for the run and shoot.

MYBOOKIE BONUS

Mac In The Box Contest Plays And The Top Seven

The contest card goes seven deep. Mac and the Bet Detective start with West Virginia at 16.5. Then they take Notre Dame at the dead number of minus 5.5. The line is now 8.5, so the Bet Detective calls it a contest 101 play. Michigan State plus 13.5 and Northwestern minus 2.5 come next. NC State gets in as a dog with Diaz looking ahead to Miami, and LSU gets in to roll an Alabama team they call phony. Boston College closes it out. Another contest crew swore it would never pick BC again after the 47-2 loss, so the guys run it right back. They call that the game after the game.

Colby Dant also runs his own top seven, and Temple covering at Navy is number one. Nevada is second, then Michigan State, Liberty, Arizona, Minnesota and Marshall. Tulsa and FIU get honorable mentions, and the Bet Detective adds a consensus nod for Air Force. Mac then floats a prime time road dog parlay. West Virginia and Michigan State on the money line, with Boston College thrown in, pays 110 to 1 by the Bet Detective’s math. That fits the mood, because Mac cashed a five-leg parlay live during the show. The Lubbock tortilla bounty also stands. Hit Mac with one on video and the show will buy you a hoodie.
