This week’s UFC Fight Night recently lost its main event, with Sean Brady pulling out of his scheduled fight against Gabriel Bonfim, yet it remains a solid fight card, especially for one at the Meta APEX. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 124, I’ve got your winner for the main event. Let’s go!

MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 124
UFC Fight Night: Cortes Acosta vs Walker (aka UFC Vegas 124)
Main Card Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Saturday’s fight card is still decent because the UFC added this heavyweight fight as its main event, with the Dominican Republic’s Waldo Cortes Acosta facing Brazil’s Johnny Walker. And I was surprised (not in the positive way) when I saw the moneyline for the fight.
But WCA being a large favorite makes sense, I guess, and I’m picking him to win. Walker’s chin was an issue at light heavyweight, and I have even more concerns about it up at heavyweight. Cortes Acosta is also a better and safer striker, so I expect him to pepper Walker with distance strikes and test that chin.
UFC Vegas 124 Main Card Pick: Waldo Cortes Acosta ML (-190)
