College Football Pick Of The Day (October 21st): NCAA Week 8 Spread Pick
For today’s college football pick of the day for Week 8, I’m looking at the Boise State vs. Washington State game. Boise State is 5-1 and heads to Pullman after a bye, riding a five-game win streak. Their only loss was in Week 1 against Oregon. The Broncos average 35 points per game behind a physical ground attack. Dylan Riley already has 835 rushing yards. Quarterback Maddux Madsen has been very efficient as well.
Washington State is 1-6 and dropped four straight. The Cougars score just 20.1 points per game and have been inefficient, ranking near the bottom of the country in offense. They just allowed 48 points to Oregon State last week and have struggled to establish any time of rhythm. It’s their homecoming, but Boise State is a far better team.
Washington State may lead this all-time series 5-2, including a triple-overtime win in Pullman in 2017. However, the most recent meeting was in 2024, and Boise State won 45-24. There’s a big talent and efficiency gap. Boise State’s run game and clean quarterback play should control the tempo against a Cougars offense that has a hard time sustaining drives.
