College Football Pick Of The Day (October 20th): NCAA Week 8 Total Pick
For today’s Week 8 college football pick of the day, I’m looking at Saturday’s matchup between number sixth-ranked Indiana and Michigan at Michigan Stadium. Indiana is a seven-point favorite and the total is sitting at 41.5 points. Indiana enters at 6-1 as the defending national champions under Curt Cignetti, while Michigan is sitting at 4-2.
Indiana’s offense is averaging a lot of points per game. 36.6, to be exact. Josh Hoover has played great. However, their biggest strength has been their defense, which is allowing just 12.9 points per game. They have shut down the run and forced opponents into throwing the ball.
Michigan’s defense isn’t a slacker either. They rank 3rd in yards allowed and are only allowing 16.2 points per game. However, their offense has not been good. Averaging just 22.7 points per game, they pulled out a 21-18 win over Penn State last week. Meanwhile, Indiana lost 15-19. Those are low-scoring games.
Indiana is the better team with the better offense. However, it’s always hostile in the Big House. The under has hit in six of the last 10 head-to-head games, including the last game they played each other, which finished 20-15.
The Pick: Indiana vs. Michigan UNDER 41.5
