While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week we head overseas for KSW 122 from Rzeszów, Poland for our regional MMA pick.

KSW Bantamweight Fight: Vitalii Yakymenko vs Marcello Morelli
Card Start Time: Saturday (10/10), 1:00pm EST (Internet PPV)
It had been years since a KSW title changed hands inside of the cage. That all changed back in February when Sebastian Przybysz dropped his bantamweight belt to Vitalii Yakymenko by close split decision. Now, Yakymenko has his first opportunity to defend his belt on Saturday.
Despite what he showed in his last fight, Yakymenko comes in here at a pretty low number. The reason for the books underestimating him is likely the size. At only 5’5″ with a modest 5’6.5″ reach, he’ll be much smaller than nearly every opponent in this weight class. However, that suits his fighting style just fine. He does his very best work from the inside – both in terms of boxing and grappling. He mixes to the body well in the clinch and has fantastic takedowns. Once he makes a connection with an opponent, he rarely comes away without a couple minutes of control time.
Morelli is an intriguing opponent due to the way he fights from length. He has a nice jab and isn’t afraid to let go of the power punches. However, he has struggled with pressure in the past. Yakymenko should bring enough of that to cruise to his very first, successful title defense.
