Football Pick of the Day (October 7th): NFL Week 5 Spread Pick
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Dallas Cowboys
8:15pm – Thursday – October 8th
Baker Mayfield is still down and out for the next few weeks and that leaves us with little to be excited for when it comes to the Buccaneers. They’ll start undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels again, who has not had an easy go of things.
Daniels has been shaky at best on the field. Over the two games that he’s played, he’s averaged an interception once every ten pass attempts. He seems to look to run a lot and he gives up a lot of sacks. Despite some good defensive play from Tampa Bay last week, they still lost to the Packers – who are not playing well either. With a short week to prepare, it’s unlikely that he’ll have a much better time on Thursday.
The Cowboys, meanwhile, are not hurting for offense. Through four weeks, they rank third in the league in points scored. They only trail the 49ers and the Bills in terms of offense. Given that it’ll be a lot easier for their defense to keep up, they should be able to cover this spread without much of a sweat.
