MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 6th

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Atlanta Braves

First Pitch – 6:00 pm EST
Truist Park – Atlanta, GA
Broadcast – FS1

Chris Sale is kicking off our early evening NRFI play on Tuesday and I can’t think of anyone better to trust. He has been mowing everyone down recently. He put up the third lowest ERA in the majors and put up 200 strikeouts in the regular season. That would be enough for him to get some more hardware in a year that didn’t contain Jacob Misiorowski. If you need even more reason to trust a guy like that, consider his last start against the Dodgers. He tossed a complete game shutout in late August with no walks allowed.

Yamamoto hasn’t been as good as Sale, but he has some phenomenal statistics as well. He ended in 5th place of the ERA race and posted the second best WHIP in the majors. Not only that, but he too pitched well against his opponent for the day the last time they faced. He was on the losing side of the Sale shutout – but threw 6.1 innings with just one run allowed in that game. That should be plenty of a reason to trust the NRFI in this one.

NRFI/YRFI Bet for October 6: No (-155)

Milwaukee Brewers vs. San Diego Padres

First Pitch – 9:30 pm EST
Petco Park – San Diego, CA
Broadcast – FS1

After hitting on Monday, we’ll look to get in on another YRFI on Tuesday as well. In short I just don’t trust the arms that we’ll see in this one. Dustin May is one-half of the equation and he’s been brutal lately. In his last three appearances, he’s allowed seven earned runs in just 7.1 innings of work. That comes out to a 8.59 ERA in that stretch. While San Diego hasn’t been the sharpest hitting team, it’s hard to trust May against anyone right now.

On the other side, we do have one of the better hitting teams. Milwaukee finished 4th in first inning scoring and 2nd in overall runs scored this year. Although they were slow to get started in Game 2, the progress of Jackson Chourio is very promising. On top of that, I just don’t trust Nick Pivetta. His numbers may have looked good in September, but he averaged letting up two fly balls per inning in that month. That’s way too many chances for a team that has some pop.

NRFI/YRFI Bet for October 6: Yes (+110)
