College Football Week 4 Reaction Show Recap
The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its 2026 season coverage with the college football week 4 reaction show, every game on the board. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) and Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) are joined by former Big 12 College Experience host Troy Chewning (@Troychewning). How does Maryland lose 54-3 at home to Bob Chesney and UCLA in the same weekend reports say Mike Locksley is out? Did Iowa really beat Michigan 20-19 on the final play in Ann Arbor? Is the abrupt slide that knocked Dante Moore out of the Oregon win the most dangerous play in the sport? Was Wake Forest at plus 400 against Louisville the best call of the weekend? And did the coonskin cap finally lose in Morgantown?
From there they work through all 76 games in order, starting with Liberty’s second-half comeback at Coastal Carolina, which Colby and Mac watched in person, and ending with Minnesota winning outright at Washington. Iowa diehard Rob Donaldson drops in to relive the Michigan win, and he has never been happier to lose $750 on an emotional hedge. Colby also spends a stretch apologizing for Wednesday’s show. He would have sworn all three of them triple locked Georgia State, and Mac says he was on Northern Illinois. We talk it all and more on this episode of The College Football Experience.

The College Football Week 4 Reaction Starts With Locksley And A 54-3 Beatdown
The show opens on news. Reports have Mike Locksley fired at Maryland, and Colby wants to know how he got eight years in the first place. His record as a head coach before College Park hired him in 2019 was 3-31, and the job came off his time on Nick Saban’s staff. Mac’s fix is to hire Mike Gundy, because Maryland needs a culture change and somebody to ruffle some feathers. Colby would settle for a good football coach.
Then the game itself. UCLA 54, Maryland 3 was Colby’s number one entry when VSiN asked him to power rank the games he felt best about on Friday. He did not see 54-3 coming. His guess was something like 31-17. Mac’s question is the one that matters in College Park. How does a team get annihilated by two first-year head coaches in back-to-back weeks, the second one by 50 at home? Colby points out that Maryland almost fired Locksley last year and gave him more money instead. Had they moved on, he thinks Chesney takes Maryland over UCLA. Wayne Knight ran it 10 times for 100 yards, and UCLA starts seven former JMU players.
Troy hands Chesney a game ball for going back to the place that could have hired him. Now Colby wants a real playoff conversation about UCLA. They get a bye, then go to Oregon, and Michigan waits on November 21st. He went through the rest of the schedule and could not find a definitive loss on it. Maybe Oregon. Mac says they don’t even need that one. Go 10-2 and they’re in.
Iowa Wins On The Final Play And Rob Donaldson Loses $750 Happily
Iowa 20, Michigan 19. Colby had the Hawkeyes with the points and on the money line. Iowa was 6 of 14 on third down, ran for 58 yards and won the game on the final play anyway. Rob Donaldson, a Hawkeye through and through, came on to explain it. His win total is 7.5 every year, and in his words Iowa has never won fewer than eight games in the last 13 years. The best part is his bet. He took an emotional hedge on Michigan minus 5.5, and he has never been happier to lose $750.
Colby also defends the 51-yard field goal try with two minutes left, the one plenty of people were outraged about. Iowa kickers are normally automatic, and he figured the kick would ice it. It missed, and then Iowa won it anyway. He also cited a story in The Athletic that has Iowa paying about $16 million for its roster against about $38 million for Michigan’s, if the numbers are accurate. Rob says they should build Kirk Ferentz a statue, and Colby says it should already be in the works.
Michigan is 2-2 with Minnesota, Penn State and Indiana next, so Colby asks whether Kyle Whittingham could be one and done in Ann Arbor. Rob thinks Michigan beats Minnesota. He also says a loss there means no bowl game, and he’d call that deserved. Colby would favor Minnesota. Iowa is 4-0 with Ohio State coming to town, and Rob plans to be out there at 5 AM.
The Abrupt Slide Rant And The Bets That Cashed
Oregon beat USC 41-27, and Dante Moore left with a concussion after an abrupt slide. Colby is not blaming the defender. To him the abrupt slide is by far the most dangerous play in the sport, and it gets ignored by the same people who scream player safety about everything else. He says Oregon coaches it and names Dillon Gabriel, Bo Nix and Marcus Mariota. So he has no patience for Dan Lanning calling the hit disgusting afterward. Colby’s fix is a 15-yard penalty for the slide. Mac would get rid of the slide altogether, and he asks the question nobody answers: what is the defender supposed to do? Colby lost on USC plus 3.5. He had already said on the pregame show that the Oregon offense looked smoother against Portland State with Dylan Raiola.
The money was better elsewhere. Colby took Wake Forest with the points and gave out Wake Forest plus 400 on the money line, and Troy notes the first half money line was plus 270. Gio Lopez went 12 of 19 for 225 and a score. Carlos Hernandez caught nine balls for 194 yards and a touchdown. Colby also had Cincinnati on the money line and with the points in a 31-26 win over Kansas State, and Minnesota on both at Washington. Nebraska 31, Michigan State 13 was a triple lock that Mac and CJ talked him into. Stanford beat Georgia Tech 34-27 for another triple lock, with Davis Warren throwing for 396 yards and three touchdowns with no picks.
Then there is the Pop Pop parlay from last Wednesday, UMass plus Lindenwood. Lindenwood covered by the hook, and UMass beat Sac State by 29 to go 4-0. Colby also cashed the Rutgers team total over and the game over in a 58-7 win, and Northwestern plus 20.5 covered with ease in a six-point loss to Indiana. Georgia State laid 10.5 and won by 21 over Northern Illinois, so Colby’s bet cashed even if his memory of Wednesday did not.
Bad Beats, The Coonskin Cap And The Game Balls
Not everything cashed. Colby had Ole Miss plus 3.5 and watched Florida win 52-28. He lost on Oklahoma about ten different ways, with the first half money line, the game money line, the points and the over, and he never thought Georgia could put up 41 on the Sooners. Then Mateer fumbled, and Georgia took one back 90 yards. He also bet NC State again. App State tied it in the fourth quarter, and Colby says he is done. Troy says there is a whole group chat of 30 to 40 people who fade Colby every time he backs NC State.
The coonskin cap finally lost. Mac bet heavily on West Virginia, and Oklahoma State won in Morgantown. West Virginia was on the verge of going up 21-6 before a tipped-ball interception. They then gave up six right before half and got run over in the second half. Colby counted 609 total yards allowed at home. Mac says they ran for almost 400 and still can’t throw it or stop a nosebleed. The chat asked if you can wash a coonskin hat. Colby’s answer is to douse it in cheap vodka and leave it out in the sun.
Then the game balls. Troy starts in Morgantown with Oklahoma State, Wyatt Young and Drew Mestemaker, then Chesney. His last one goes to Pitt’s quarterback for 403 yards and six touchdowns, which Mac points out came against Bucknell. Mac gives his to Wisconsin for handing Matt Campbell his first loss in State College, then Jake Dickert and Wake Forest, then Liberty. Colby takes Iowa and Florida. He also gives Oregon a ball for winning on the road after their quarterback got knocked out. So no, he doesn’t hate the Ducks.
