San Francisco Giants vs Atlanta Braves
Start Time: 6:05 PM EST
After sweeping the Dodgers and the Rockies in back-to-back series, the Braves welcome another West coast foe. The Giants come to town following a four-game split in Arizona with the Diamondbacks.
You have to love the way that the Braves defense has looked as of late. During their seven-game win streak, they’ve allowed just 17 total runs (or 2.43 per game). Some of that love can head Bryce Elder’s way – who just so happens to be the man getting the ball on Monday. He has held opponents to one run or less in four of his last six starts.
The Giants have not nearly been as good on defense lately. They gave up 20 runs in their four-game set with the Diamondbacks and are in the bottom third of the league when it comes to allowing runs. Even worse for them is the fact that they’ll be throwing Anthony Molina, who hasn’t started a game all year and has just two starts in his career. Also, he is a recent trade acquisition from the Braves, which means they have the advanced scouting on him.
None of this points to an easy night for the Giants, so we’ll take that moneyline on Atlanta.
