MMA Regional Pick of the Week: CFFC 159
CFFC Featherweight Fight: Christian Bobe vs Adamu Isah
Card Start Time: Friday (8/14), 7:00pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
While CFFC lost a bantamweight title fight off the top of this card, they still have some great lighter weight action. Damien Anderson was signed to the UFC, leaving Lucas Seibert without a dance partner. As a result, featherweights Christian Bobe and Adamu Isah were elevated to main event status.
In this fight, I love Christian Bobe. While he may not be quite as sharp as Isah on the feet, he should have a massive grappling advantage. When he makes contact with an opponent, he doesn’t often let go. That comes in the form of creative trips as well as back takes. His ability to attack from anywhere also makes him exceptionally dangerous.
Although Isah may have the edge on the feet, he has a bad history of crashing into the clinch. Sometimes this is because he likes to wrestle, but he also does it due to lack of range awareness. If he makes the mistake of closing the distance too much here, Bobe will not let him off the hook. Look for Bobe to get a submission early in this one.
