MMA Same Game Parlay of the Week: UFC Perth
UFC Perth Middleweight Fight: Wes Schultz vs Ben Johnston
Start Time: 4:00am EST (Paramount+)
On the early prelims for UFC Perth, we have a middleweight showdown between a local fighter and one likely being overlooked. While Wes Schultz had an ugly debut, he is much better than how he looked against hot prospect Damian Pinas. Even if he isn’t, this fight is lined up that we can play some props and clean up on a same-game parlay.
Schultz has always been solid in the grappling game. If you go back to his first fight on Dana White’s Contender Series, he took Mansur Abdul-Malik down twice. If you watch the regional fights of Ben Johnston, he’s been taken down quite a few times. He’s also quick back to his feet, which should make it easy for Schultz to pick up a second takedown.
Even if you don’t like Schultz as an underdog, we can get down with another prop for him. Pairing those takedowns with a reasonable 20 significant strikes buoys this number in a big way. He managed to rack up 46 significant strikes against the aforementioned Abdul-Malik, and Johnston seems much worse than that.
We’ll use those two together and get a great number. Plus, if you want to get crazy, you can add the ‘Party Time’ moneyline and get it up to 4-to-1.
