Philadelphia Flyers vs Carolina Hurricanes
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
The Eastern Conference Second Round series between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Carolina Hurricanes is the first one to get out of the gates, kicking off tomorrow night. The Flyers just won an epic Game 6 against the Pittsburgh Penguins 1-0 in overtime on Wednesday, while the Hurricanes have been chilling since dispatching the Ottawa Senators on April 25th.
Assuming the ‘Canes haven’t collected rust and dust with all the time off, they should be the superior team in this matchup with the Flyers, starting in Game 1 on their home ice. Carolina won three of four from Philadelphia in the regular season, including both games in Raleigh. In fact, with a 29-10-2 home mark in the regular season, the Hurricanes were the best home squad in the league this season.
The Flyers have overachieved to make it this far. I don’t see them getting past the Hurricanes. Carolina on the moneyline is my best bet for Saturday.
