The NFL Draft is basically my Super Bowl… except instead of a team winning, it’s me trying to beat the market before it beats me.
So naturally, I brought in Jason Gold—because this is the time of year where things get weird. Like “a guy hasn’t been mocked in the top 10 for three months and suddenly he’s going second overall” weird. According to Jason, this is officially “turn your brain off season,” which honestly explains a lot of my past bets.
We got into everything: the Jets being a complete mystery at No. 2, the Cardinals potentially sitting tight at 3, and why Jeremiyah Love might be the guy that breaks the draft wide open. Also, the Rams? Way too quiet. And if you’ve followed the NFL long enough, you know that usually means they’re about to do something unhinged.
We also talked through some of my favorite bets—Jaguars to take a wide receiver at +800 (don’t talk me out of it), Rueben Bain Jr.’s draft position, and whether Caleb Downs is actually a lock to go top 10 or just another victim of late-cycle hype.
Jason dropped a bunch of angles too, including some sneaky longshots like Kenyon Sadiq landing in Minnesota and the Texans going cornerback early.
Moral of the story: this is the worst week to trust everything you hear… and the best week to bet it anyway.
Let’s go make some questionable decisions.
