The NHL is starting to misbehave on me, as I’m starting to lose on some of my hockey bets after basically operating on a heater for the season. Let’s get it back on track tomorrow. Best Bet For Tuesday (March 17th): NHL Predictions
New York Islanders vs Toronto Maple Leafs
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST
While the Toronto Maple Leafs thought this lost season of theirs couldn’t get any worse, the hockey gods said, “Hold my beer”, and now star captain Auston Matthews will be out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. The Leafs will be missing the postseason for the first time since 2015/16.
Toronto’s opponents tomorrow night, the New York Islanders, are almost a lock to return to the playoffs after missing out on the fun last year, currently sitting with a 70% chance at seeing postseason action. While the Isles’ offense isn’t as good as the Leafs’ (that was with Matthews, however), they don’t allow as many goals (but not many teams do).
Add in the fact that New York is a strong road team (10th in the league) and has won three of four, and it makes the moneyline we’re getting on the Islanders tomorrow look even nicer.
