Matt Dewoskin ATS College Basketball Picks Record (Est 11/3/2025)
All Selections: 135-124-5
Perfect 3-0 Cards: 12-76
Charlotte at Wichita State
Start Time: 7:30 PM EST
Charlotte enters this game with a 13-9 overall record and a 4-3 mark on the road. The 49ers are 12-9 against the spread overall and 4-3 ATS on the road.
Wichita State comes into this matchup with a 13-9 overall record and a 10-2 mark at home. The Shockers are 13-8 ATS overall and 8-3 ATS at home.
Charlotte won a matchup against Wichita State in January outright as a 5.5-point underdog. These teams have only played four times in the past three years, but Charlotte has covered three times.
The 49ers are on a four-game winning streak that includes road wins as an underdog against Temple and East Carolina. Wichita State is off a road loss at Tulsa.
The Shockers are known for a solid defense and slow pace, especially at home, but Charlotte runs a remarkably efficient offense. The 49ers are 81st in the nation in offensive efficiency and 77th in the nation in effective field goal percentage. Charlotte isn’t flashy, but they make the most out of their possessions and are solid on the defensive end.
The 49ers are tied for first place in the AAC. Charlotte may not be the prettiest team to watch, but they’ve gotten the job done in conference. Both teams are in the bottom-100 in pace of play, so expect this one to be a slow, chippy game. Charlotte makes the most of their possessions and doesn’t typically get blown out. This looks like a one-or two-possession game on paper, and the 49ers are catching nearly four possessions. Lock up the 49ers to stay within the number.
Best Bet: Charlotte +9.5
Lipscomb at Austin Peay
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Lipscomb enters this matchup with a 15-8 record overall and a 4-8 mark on the road. The Bisons are 11-10 ATS overall and 6-6 ATS on the road.
Austin Peay comes into this game with a 15-6 overall record and a 9-0 mark at home. The Governors are 11-8 ATS overall and 4-3 ATS at home.
Lipscomb has owned this series. The Bisons have won nine of the last 10 games in this series outright. They’ve also covered seven straight times against Austin Peay.
However, the Governors are 9-1 in their last 10 games played overall, and 5-5 ATS in that stretch. Lipscomb has won eight of their last 10 games played overall, but is only 4-6 ATS over that stretch.
Lipscomb is a bit more explosive on offense, but Austin Peay is tough on the defensive end and capable of putting the ball through the hoop on offense. The Govs are 10th in the nation in steals per game, 42nd in opponent turnovers per game. Austin Peay is really good at turning over the opposition, and they should get a friendly whistle at home.
Lipscomb has done well against the Governors recently, but Austin Peay has the stronger roster this year, and should defend their home. This is a case of the line telling us what’s going to happen. Expect Austin Peay to win and cover at home as they make their push to win the ASUN regular season.
Best Bet: Austin Peay -2.5
BYU at Oklahoma State
Start Time: 9:00 PM EST
BYU comes into this game with a 17-4 overall record and a 2-2 mark in true road games. The Cougars are 8-13 ATS overall and 1-3 ATS on the road.
Oklahoma State enters this matchup with a 15-6 overall record and a 12-2 mark at home. The Cowboys are 10-11 ATS overall and 5-9 ATS at home.
BYU has won and covered two out of three games played against Oklahoma State in the past three years.
The Cougars are off back-to-back losses at Kansas and against Arizona. They’ve also failed to cover six straight games. Oklahoma State is 5-5 in its last 10 games played and 5-5 ATS over that same stretch. They’ve lost at home against Iowa State and Baylor in the past month.
The handicap here is simple. BYU is off back-to-back losses against two of the better teams in the Big 12. They need this game to get their season back on track. BYU has a top-20 offense in the country, and Oklahoma State can be leaky on defense. The Cowboys can score, but BYU is in the top-100 in the nation in most defensive metrics. The Cougars are more explosive on both ends and need this game. Lock up BYU to win on the road and cover the 5.5 points.
Best Bet: BYU -5.5
