Prelim Pick of the Week: UFC 323
UFC Lightweight Fight: Terrance McKinney vs Chris Duncan
Start Time: Saturday (12/6) 6:00pm EST (ESPN+)
Looking ahead to next week, there is one line on the prelims that you’re going to want to get in on early. While Terrance McKinney has some highlight reel finishes in his career, he has crumbled against anyone tough enough to withstand his early onslaught. His fight with Drew Dober is a perfect example. He looked fantastic for roughly 90 seconds before gassing and getting finished. Nazim Sadykov did the same to him, granted it took until the second round.
The bad news for McKinney, and the good news for bettors, is that Chris Duncan profiles as exactly the type of person who can do that. Look no further than his Contender Series fight where he ate a huge shot from Charlie Campbell. While on skates, he survived well enough to land a bomb of his own and ended the fight. His whole career is filled with fights like that – which means he should run right through McKinney after the first couple of minutes.
