These 1-1 weeks for my college football picks are killing me. Well, technically, they aren’t killing me; it’s just resulting in me treading water until I have a big week and boost my bankroll again. Perhaps Week 11 is that week. For my college football predictions and best bets for Week 11, we’re heading to Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa, and Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana. College Football Predictions & Best Bets for Week 11
#1 Ohio State Buckeyes vs Purdue Boilermakers
Start Time: 1:00 PM EST
We start things off this week in the Big Ten, as the top team in the country (second place in the conference), the 8-0 THE Ohio State Buckeyes hit the road to Indiana to face the 2-7 (0-6 in the Big Ten) Purdue Boilermakers. This should be a squash match.
So why am I in on the Boilermakers’ side?! They are bad on defense and even worse on offense. And, after starting the season off 2-0 (including one game against a non-major team), they’ve lost seven straight games.
So why am I in on the Boilermakers’ side, you ask? Purdue, at the very least, is good at keeping games close. They only lost by five on the road at #21 Michigan last week. And the other ranked teams they’ve played, while they’ve lost, they’ve never been beaten by 30 points like the spread for this game is set at.
My line is Ohio State -23, so I’m betting on the Boilermakers keeping it close, relatively speaking. Just keep it within four touchdowns, and we’re good.
Best Bet: Purdue +30 (-108)
#6 Oregon Ducks vs Iowa Hawkeyes
Start Time: 3:30 PM EST
We’ll stick around the Big Ten this week, as two teams with 4-1 conference records meet up in Iowa, as the 6-2 Hawkeyes host the #6-ranked, 7-1 Oregon Ducks. The Ducks are a very strong squad – elite on offense and defense – a top 8-ranked team all season long, with their only slip-up a loss to #7 Indiana in Week 6.
So this is the part of the preview where I say I’m not taking the Ducks. Well, I’m not taking the Ducks. The Hawkeyes have an elite defense, as well, ranked fourth in the nation. And other than a similar loss to the Hoosiers, they are crushing Big Ten foes. And this game is at home on Saturday.
My line is Oregon -1, so I’ll take Iowa plus the points as a live home dog.
