As good as Week 8 was for my picks (2-0), Week 9 was just as rotten (0-2). So, based on that pattern, this week should be a smashing success, and we’ll make loads of dough. For my college football predictions and best bets for Week 10, we’re off to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, and Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee.
College Football Predictions & Best Bets for Week 10
#8 Kentucky Wildcats vs #16 Tennessee Volunteers
Start Time: 6:15 PM EST
I’ve zeroed in on a couple of SEC matchups for my winning plays this week, and we’ll start in Knoxville, where the #16-ranked 6-2 (3-2 SEC) Tennessee Volunteers host the #8-ranked 7-1 (5-1 SEC) Kentucky Wildcats. Both teams are coming off a bye week, so they should be chomping at the bit to get at it.
The Wildcats have been one of the season’s big surprise stories, as their current six-game win streak has vaulted them into the national rankings and the College Football Playoff picture. Whoever pounded the over on Kentucky’s preseason win total of 4.5 cashed their bet weeks ago.
Despite all this, the Wildcats find themselves dogs this week at the home of the Volunteers. Tennessee dropped their last game, getting edged out by South Carolina in Week 8, so this game is crucial for both teams if they want to make the cut for the Playoffs.
My numbers say Tennessee will win the battle, but Kentucky will win the spread war. My line is Tennessee -2, so Kentucky on the spread is my play. The Cats will be the live dogs.
Best Bet: Kentucky +6.5 (-105)
#2 Georgia Bulldogs vs #12 Ole Miss Rebels
Start Time: 7:30 PM ET
There are a handful of top-shelf matchups this week on the collegiate gridiron, and this is certainly one of them. In a rematch of last season’s Sugar Bowl (which doubled as a College Football Playoff Quarterfinal), the #2-ranked 7-1 (5-1 SEC) Georgia Bulldogs head to Mississippi to face the #12-ranked 6-2 (4-2 SEC) Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebels pulled off the upset on New Year’s Day, and they’ll look to do the same on their home field on Saturday.
And I’m betting Ole Miss will do so. Or at least they’ll cover the spread, which is all us degenerates care about. But it won’t be easy, as Georgia is one of the nation’s top teams on both sides of the ball (4th in offense, 11th in defense). And it’ll be made all the more difficult for the home side as star running back Kewan Lacy remains out with a shoulder injury.
However, the Rebels won by 30 without Lacy last weekend, and they are undefeated on their home turf. After crunching the numbers, my line is Ole Miss -3, so I’ll take the Bulldogs as a live dog on the spread.
Best Bet: Ole Miss +3.5 (-110)
2025/6 College Football Overall Record: 8-10 (44%)
