On Wednesday, we hit against with a YRFI play. Despite all the offense we’ve seen early in the American League Championship Series, we still got some underdog money that Julio Rodriguez made good on. Now we’re back with more NRFI bets for October 16.
Both championship series are in action on Thursday and we have NRFI and YRFI props for October 16. Come check out what we have cooked up for this slate of games.

MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 16
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
First Pitch – 6:08 pm EST
Dodger Stadium – Los Angeles, CA
Broadcast – TBS
While we did get a first inning run in Game 2, it came from a first pitch Brewers dinger. Jackson Chourio went yard and the Brewers proceeded to go radio silent for the rest of the game. They only managed two more hits over the next 27 outs of the game. Now they’ll have to try to change that against Tyler Glasnow, who has been lights out in the playoffs. In two appearances, he’s thrown 7.2 innings and has not allowed a single earned run. He’s got ten strikeouts to go along with four total hits allowed. As a result, I think he should coast through the first inning.
To close out the NRFI, we have no idea who the Brewers are going to send out to the bump on Thursday. However, even given that fact, the Dodgers have not been able to get things going early. It took them until the 6th inning in Game 1 and a home run from Freddie Freeman to get a run. They got on the board a bit earlier in Game 2, but again not until they were blanked in the first. I’ll trust whatever arm the Brewers decide to go with to finish this one off.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for October 16: No (-145)
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners
First Pitch – 8:33 pm EST
T-Mobile Park – Seattle, WA
Broadcast – FS1
It’s finally time to look for the NRFI in this series after cashing big with the YRFIs. A big part of that is due to the pitching matchup we’ll see on Wednesday. Kicking off the inning is Luis Castillo toeing the rubber. He has been phenomenal for the last month. In that time, he’s thrown 19.1 innings and only allowed one earned run (that’s a 0.47 ERA). Even with as good as the Blue Jays bats looked on Wednesday, I think Castillo should be able to get us three quick outs.
The bottom of the inning will be the sweat for us. Pitching for the Blue Jays with be Max Scherzer making his first playoff appearance in 2025. While he closed the season looking less than himself, he has historically been solid in the playoffs. I do think that the Mariners will eventually get to him in this one, but I think he should get through the first unscathed.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for October 16: No (TBD)
