The Braves continued to be a hot bed for NRFI hits on Friday. With that hit under our belt, we’ll look to keep the good times going into the weekend. We have some NRFI bets for September 26.

MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – September 26
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants
First Pitch – 4:05 pm EST
Oracle Park – San Francisco, CA
Broadcast – MLB TV
The Dodgers are now in a spot where they can no longer go up or down in terms of the standings. They have the #2-seed in the National League and have no chance to move. That means they can rest players a bit over the last two weekends. That’s likely to decrease an offensive production that has already wanned. They’ve scored just five runs over the last three games for an average of (1.67 runs per game). Matt “Tugboat” Wilkinson will be charged with continuing that trend. He has thrown 11.0 straight scoreless innings and should be able to tack one on to that total.
Speaking of teams that have slumped with their hitting, the Giants cannot seem to buy a hit lately. They’ve scored just ten total runs over the last five games and half of those came in their lone win over that stretch. It’s unlikely they’ll find the keys to success with Blake Snell on the bump. He has a 1.86 ERA during his short season, but has been even better lately. In his last five starts (23.2 innings), he’s allowed just two earned runs.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for September 26: No (-145)
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers
First Pitch – 7:10 pm EST
American Family Field – Milwaukee, WI
Broadcast – MLB TV
Now that the Cardinals have been eliminated, they don’t seem to be putting their foot on the gas all that much. Their league average offense has hit a bit of a speed bump – putting up just ten runs over their last four games (2.50 runs per game). At this point, I might take a pitching machine to get an NRFI against them. Instead, it’ll be Dustin May who gets the ball. He’s allowed just five runs over his last three starts and should be able to find three quick outs here.
While the Brewers haven’t exactly started to struggle down the stretch, they are in a similar spot in terms of resting as the Dodgers. They’ve long since put the #1-seed in the bank and are coasting to the postseason. That may mean that they rest a few more players here against Quinn Matthews. He’s put up a 2.55 ERA in the month of September and seems to look better every time out.
