MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 15
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners
First Pitch – 8:08 pm EST
T-Mobile Park – Seattle, WA
Broadcast – FS1
The Blue Jays come to the plate to start this one. While George Kirby has been exceptional this postseason, I just can’t discount how potent the offenses have been here. The Blue Jays have scored a run in each of their last four first innings. They get after it early and love to hit the long ball. A lot of that is the long ball and Kirby is no stranger to that lately. He’s allowed a dinger in three of his last five starts and there’s a good chance Toronto will find one early here.
If Toronto doesn’t find an early run, I like their chances to give one up. While they have scored in the first inning in four straight, they have also allowed a first inning run in two of their last four. Throwing Shane Bieber isn’t likely to help. He only manage to make it 2.2 innings last time. He allowed a first inning run on a pair of hits that time out against the Yankees. For those reasons, I do like the YRFI on Wednesday.
