College Football Week 7 Best Bets: Upset Parlay

College Football Week 7 Best Bets: Upset Parlay

Week 6 of College Football has once again proven that underdogs always have a chance in College Football. As last week’s article predicted, the Florida Gators defended the swamp and took down Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns. Miami escaped an upset loss to rival Florida State. But the biggest of all the upsets was the 24.5-point underdog UCLA Bruins taking down the Penn State Nittany Lions with relative ease as +1200 moneyline underdogs. What Week 7 College Football upsets are on the horizon? Let’s dig into our best bets and put together an upset parlay.

MYBOOKIE BONUS

Top 25 matchups are plenty this week as Alabama heads to Missouri as road favorites in the SEC. Ohio State will do the same at Illinois in the Big Ten. #6 Oklahoma is an underdog in the Red River Rivalry as they take on now unranked Texas. Florida at Texas A&M, Michigan at USC, and Arizona at Utah are all on the docket as well, and making me more and more excited about this weekend in College Football as I write this. It’s all topped off by the marquee matchup of Week 7, #7 Indiana heads to Eugene, Oregon, to take on the #3-ranked Ducks in a Big Ten, top-10 matchup.

Now is a good time to remind you to bet these teams individually on the moneyline, and I like to bet them with the points as well. If you did this last week, it was hugely successful. If they are good enough to pull the upset, it makes a great case for taking them with the points as well.

College Football Week 7 Best Bets: Upset Parlay

Kansas Jayhawks Moneyline (+450)

The Texas Tech Raiders have looked for real this season. The team came into the year with a ton of hype around them, and they are up to #9 in the AP Poll. But, they’ve yet to be truly tested, and have a big game at Arizona State on the horizon next week. But first, the Kansas Jayhawks. It’s homecoming week in Lubbock, and the Red Raiders fans will show up for the “blackout” game. Last year’s blackout game, Texas Tech hardly survived Cincinnati in overtime.

Kansas has been great on the road this year, hanging close with the SEC’s Missouri Tigers, leading a majority of the game before losing at the end. They defeated what looks to be a decent UCF team under Scott Frost. Cincinnati came to Lawrence a few weeks ago, and Kansas gave them everything they had, losing by just three to the team that went on to defeat the Iowa State Cyclones last week. Kansas brings an offense that Texas Tech’s tough defense hasn’t yet seen. Led by sixth-year man Jalen Daniels, the Jayhawks have averaged 434.8 yards and 35 points per game. Daniels ranks 13th in passing yards nationally among quarterbacks. I think the Jayhawks are up for this test and will give the Red Raiders all they can handle.

Akron Zips Moneyline (+340)

Let’s get down to some MAC-Tion for the second leg of this parlay. Both of these teams have played some Big Ten schools and gotten results you’d expect in those. But now playing against schools at their own levels, the Zips were impressive last week. They averaged 6.1 yards per play en route to 417 yards of offense on the day against Central Michigan. The key to Akron’s success is its running back Jordan Grant. Grant had 176 yards on the ground last week and a receiving touchdown on his way to earning Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week Honors.

Akron has forced six turnovers over its six games this season. In a game that looks to be on the higher scoring side of things, if the Zips can control the turnover margin and ground game. They are definitely live dogs in Week 7, I think they’ll snap the seven-game losing streak to the Red Hawks of Miami (OH) and win at home.

Stanford Cardinal Moneyline (+700)

I’m feeling good about the big dogs barking this week, as well as the Cardinal of Stanford barking. Their defense has lacked in the last couple of games, and that’s a bit concerning. But if they can dig deep and find the defense that was dominant against Hawaii, BYU, and Boston College, they’ll have a chance at winning this game.

If their defense can return to what it was, it’ll match the levels the offense is currently at. The Cardinal offense has been firing on all cylinders the last few weeks. Quarterback Ben Gulbranson has looked sharp, leading the Cardinal to wins over Boston College and San Jose State. This team is rebuilding and retooling, lying in the grass with no expectations. It’s the perfect week for them to jump up and shock the world as 7/1 dogs.

Kansas + Akron + Stanford Parlay (+19260)

We’re going all in on this week’s parlay and shooting for the moon. A cool $20 bet will net you a smooth $3,852.00. Crack open the beverage of your choice, and get comfortable on the couch. And listen to the dogs bark on Saturday!
