2025 MLB Playoffs Preview – Predictions & Best Bets

To Win Series: Boston Red Sox (+135)

If you’re looking to get in on some action that cashes fast, consider playing the opening series. We’re looking at just a best-of-3 and there are plenty of lines I like in these matchups. Perhaps my favorite is the line on Boston against their rivals, the Yankees. While the Red Sox have been up and down all year, I love their pitching staff in a short series. We get AL Cy Young candidate Garrett Crochet off the bat and then Brayan Bello, who posted a 3.35 ERA on the season. If they still need it, rookie phenom Connelly Early is there in game 3 to close up shop.

Player to Record 2+ HR: Fernando Tatis Jr (+1200)

If player props is more your speed, you might want to check out the wild card home run props. Most books are offering a “Player to Record 2+ Home Runs” prop. My best bet for that one is Tatis Jr. He found his stroke down the stretch for the Padres. He had a dinger in three of his last four games. Additionally, the Cubs have been a home run friendly team this year with 1.25 allowed per game.

PostSeason HR Leader: Kyle Schwarber (+900)

If you don’t mind stretching those home runs out for more than one series, maybe you want to play the postseason leader for home runs. While I’m not predicting the Phillies to win the World Series, I do like Kyle Schwarber to lead the playoffs in long balls. He has been crushing the ball lately and there’s a good chance we see the Phillies for more than one series.

To Win American League Pennant: Seattle Mariners (+185)

This one might be a bit chalky, but if you’re looking for a pennant play, I love the Mariners. The American League is really void of anyone who looks dominant. Seattle has some solid starting pitchers and – apart from the series with the Dodgers – looked to be blowing everyone out of the water in the last month. There are too many flaws with the other teams for me to imagine any of them getting Seattle out of there.

To Win World Series MVP: Pete Crow-Armstrong (+15000)

We could just pick the winner for the World Series, or we could get crazy with a World Series MVP pick. There hasn’t been a pitcher since before the pandemic win World Series MVP. So although I think the pitching of the Cubs are going to carry them to a ring, I’m going with the breakout star for them Pete Crow-Armstrong to get the MVP trophy. He didn’t have the greatest last month, but seemed to be getting hot right at the right time for a big October run.
