New Orleans Saints at Buffalo Bills Preview and Predictions

Spencer Rattler and the New Orleans Saints head north to Buffalo to face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills this weekend. With a spread as high as 16.5 in some places, it’s the biggest spread of the weekend, and the biggest of the season thus far. That doesn’t mean you can’t find good ways to bet on the game, and that’s what we intend to do! So, let’s dive in and take a look at the Saints-Bills Week 4 NFL picks and preview.

For New Orleans, they are looked at as one of, if not the worst team in the NFL. They held their own in the first two games, losing to the Cardinals at home by just seven points in Week 1. Week 2 saw the Max Jones-led San Francisco 49ers come to town, with a similar result. The Saints lost by just five points. Last week, they traveled to the home of the 12th Man and looked like they were playing against 21 instead. The Seahawks wiped the floor with them early and often.

The Buffalo Bills cruise into Week 4 as one of the six undefeated teams still standing. They won an absolute thriller in Week 1 with a crazy comeback to defeat the Baltimore Ravens. Week 2 saw them take care of the New York Jets. Last week, they played the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football. It was a slow start, but in the end, they won the game 31-21. They’ve scored at least 30 points in all three games this season.

Buffalo Bills at New Orleans Saints Preview and Predictions

James Cook Longest Rush Over 15.5 Yards (-120)

James Cook has been known to break off some big runs in his career. The last two weeks, he’s dashed for some big gains. Against the Jets, he galloped for 44 yards on a single run. Against the Dolphins, he ripped one for 26 yards. In four of his last six games, Cook has had a single run longer than 16 yards. He did so on eight separate occasions in 2024. Trey Benson gashed the Saints’ defense for 52 yards in a single run back in Week 1. There’s no reason for the Bills to do anything but play it simple early on in this game, and hopefully Cook breaks one early in the going.

Buffalo Bills First Half -9.5 (-115)

Betting the Bills to cover the first half feels much safer than taking the 15.5 or 16.5 on the full game. Seattle jumped up early on the Saints last week at home, up 21 after the first quarter and 32 at halftime. They ended up holding on and clearly covering the full game, but there’s always the risk Buffalo plays backups in the second half and the Saints cover in the backdoor. Buffalo will run it down their throats early and often, hopefully both of these have cashed at halftime, and the backdoor won’t matter.
