Dallas Cowboys at Chicago Bears Preview and Predictions

Sunday action is here with the Cowboys Bears Preview and Picks. Which team takes home the week 3 win? Check out the NFL Week 3 Picks

The Dallas Cowboys head on the road for a Week 3 showdown with the Chicago Bears. Soldier Field is sure to be popping when America’s Team rolls through for this one. The Sunday evening game will mark the first game for either team that they have played outside of their respective divisions. And both teams are probably glad for the change of pace here.

The Cowboys got into the win column in Week 2 with an overtime win over the Giants. After a rough start, the Cowboys battled back multiple times to force OT. Then with just seconds left on the clock, Brandon Aubrey bagged a 46-yarder to get them the win. That puts them in a decent place within the division after losing opening night against the Eagles on the road.

The Bears, meanwhile, are in search of their first win. Unlike the Cowboys, the momentum is clearly not in their favor. They, too, kicked off the season with a narrow loss to a divisional opponent – falling to the Vikings by three. However, Week 2 was not nearly as kind to them. Detroit hung 52 on them with Jared Goff going off for five touchdowns in the air. If they are going to turn things around, they’ll need to slow the opposing quarterback and protect their own. Caleb Williams was sacked four times in their last game.

Dallas Cowboys at Chicago Bears Preview and Predictions

Javonte Williams Over 60.5 Rushing Yards (-155)

I started this season as the preeminent Javonte Williams hater. I really believed that he didn’t belong starting in any backfield at this stage in his career. He has won me over after two weeks though. After those two weeks, he finds himself surprisingly sitting in 7th place in the NFL in rushing yards. He was also tied for first in rushing touchdowns. The Bears have given up 297 yards of rushing in two games. Williams should be able to find at least 61 more to add to that pile.

Dallas Cowboys -1.5 (-105)

The ability for the Cowboys to put points on the board is going to be a problem for the Bears. They put up a 37-spot on the Giants last week, who appear to be at least decent on that side of things. The Bears, meanwhile, are coming off an embarassing defensive effort. Even if the Cowboys struggle a bit on the defensive side with the injuries, I think they can hang on in a shootout. As a result, my Cowboys-Bears prediction is to take the Cowboys and lay the points.
