MYBOOKIE BONUS

Early-season College Football is the best time to get in on the underdogs. These days, teams change so much from year to year that we don’t always know what to expect from every team. That gives us a great opportunity to look at the underdogs who can maybe spoil another team’s party. Or at least their first half in some cases. We’ll start with some action Thursday night and take it all the way through the weekend for a true degen sweat. As always, bet these individually in addition to throwing them into your parlay.

College Football Week 1 Best Bets: Upset Parlay

First Leg: East Carolina First Half Moneyline (+260)

Let’s kick this parlay off with a first-half moneyline bet in a Carolina showdown. The Pirates of East Carolina head to take on “big brother” North Carolina State at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina. The teams just played against each other in the Military Bowl back in December. East Carolina came out on top in a hotly contested game that ended in a brawl with multiple players being ejected.

This pick is as simple as this will be a passionate and contested game. These ECU players always show up when they play against their in-state rivals. The Pirates lost a lot of starters, but all the pressure is on the Wolfpack in this one. After losing in the bowl game and having their first losing season since 2019, all the pressure is on the Wolfpack as big favorites. ECU will come out of the gates swinging and putting it all on the field. That’ll be enough to snag the first-half moneyline victory for them.

Second Leg: Baylor Moneyline (+115)

It’s a small dog, but the bark is big enough to boost our parlay. I love Baylor in this Big 12 vs SEC matchup in Waco, Texas. It’s kind of surprising Baylor is the underdog in this game, but we’ll take it. They have the veteran quarterback returning in Sawyer Robinson. Robinson didn’t get the starting job until the Bears got into Big 12 play last year. He still tossed over 3,000 yards and 28 touchdowns.

Jackson Arnold takes over for Auburn after he was benched due to poor play at Oklahoma. Bryson Washington will be key to Baylor’s attack out of the backfield, both running and receiving the ball. They’ll need to slow down Auburn’s two big wide receivers, but give me the Bears in this one.

Third Leg: Florida Atlantic Moneyline (+450)

Let’s end this parlay with a bang. The Florida Atlantic Owls head up to College Park, Maryland, with their sights set on victory in Big Ten country. Maryland still hasn’t named a starting quarterback for the weekend, but it’s likely true freshman Malik Washington.

On the other side, it’s a veteran, experienced quarterback in Caden Veltkamp. He can handle a road game against a Big Ten team and a head-to-head matchup against a fresh and young freshman. I expect this game to be a back-and-forth shootout. The Owls come into this one with no pressure; they can relax and show off for their new head coach. Mike Locksley for Maryland has a ton of pressure not to lose to an AAC school at home in Week 1. Locksley also isn’t known for winning a lot of games, especially ones with big-time pressure. Owls beat the Terrapins on Sunday and bring home this parlay for us!

Parlay (+4157)

Mix them all up, and it spits it out for us at a +4157 parlay. A cool $20 bill would bring you back $851.40 if this one hits. Grab a drink of your choice, sit back and relax, and cheer for the underdogs this weekend!
