Seattle Mariners vs Los Angeles Angels
Start Time: 9:38 PM EST
The Seattle Mariners’ 54-48 record has them firmly in an American League Wild Card spot, but that isn’t good enough for them, apparently, as they traded for slugger Josh Naylor today from the Arizona Diamondbacks. And they are also rumored to be vying for Naylor’s now-former teammate Eugenio Suarez. The Mariners seem to be bolstering their roster for a hopefully deep playoff run.
The 49-53 Los Angeles Angels, however, won’t realistically be making any playoff run, or even making the postseason (they currently have a 1.3% chance). They also have yet to beat their divisional rival, the Mariners, this season, dropping their first three matchups (and are currently losing in Game 4 as these words are being written).
With Bryan Woo and his minisucle 0.94 WHIP (sixth best in the majors) on the mound tomorrow for the Mariners, I don’t like Los Angeles’ chances of snapping their Seattle slump
