I whiffed on my home run bet on Willson Contreras a few days ago; now I’ve turned my attention to his big brother William. The elder Contreras is having another solid season behind the plate for the league’s best team, the Milwaukee Brewers.

After homering on Monday, Contreras has 18 for the year, one more than last season’s total. Tomorrow he faces the Philadelphia Phillies Aaron Nola, who is tied for the majors lead in homers allowed with 34, and who Contreras has homered off before.

Los Angeles Angels vs Athletics

Start Time: 9:40 PM EST

The Athletics, of parts unknown, are also sending out a gopher ball specialist tomorrow to start, Jeffrey Springs. Springs has coughed up 33 homers, third in the majors.

Old dog Mike Trout still has some bite left in his bat, with 21 dingers this season. Let’s bet on him taking advantage of a big meatball from Springs.
