The WNBA’s version of the Midsummer Classic goes down tomorrow night in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. But the hero of that fan base – and the person one of the All-Star teams is named after – will be conspicuously absent from the court. The Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark is out of action again with an injured groin. Here are your WNBA predictions and preview for Saturday, July 19th – All-Star Game best bet.
WNBA Predictions & Preview For Saturday, July 19th
TEAM COLLIER VS TEAM CLARK
Start Time: 8:30 PM EST
It’s some pretty degenerate behavior to bet on an All-Star Game, which is basically just a glorified scrimmage. And I’m all for it. However, I’ve had to change up my handicapping techniques since I normally lean into stats to make my picks.
Instead, I’ll just look at the rosters of Team Collier and Team Clark. The first thing that jumps off the screen is Caitlin Clark, as mentioned, won’t be playing in the game (not that she’s the best player on her All-Star squad, that would be A’ja Wilson). And Team Collier is, of course, led by Napheesa Collier, who has been unquestionably the best player in the league this season.
Team Collier has a nice mix of youth and veterans, and I think they have the talent edge over Team Clark. Team Collier will cover the spread for us tomorrow night.
Best Bet: Team Collier -4.5 (-105)
Overall Record: 24-32 (43%)
Profit (based on $100/bet): -($995.13)
Return on Investment: -18%
