My second day filling in for my co-host, Jeff Fox, didn’t go nearly as good as the first. The Fever not only blew the cover late in the game, but they also blew the game outright. While their ugly looks down the stretch were disheartening, we’re ready to rebound with another WNBA pick. Here’s my WNBA prediction and best bet for Sunday, July 6th.

Las Vegas Aces vs Connecticut Sun
Start Time: 4:00 PM EST
It’s not often that we see a home underdog with a 17.5-point line, but here we are. The Connecticut Sun have been absolutely awful this season, coming into Sunday with a 2-15 record. However, it’s not just that they’re losing, it’s how they’re losing. They’re getting blown out just about every night. They’re coming off a 39-point loss to Minnesota and would have not covered this spread at the half of that game.
Not only are they bad, but they are without leading scorer Marina Mabrey, who is still not ready to return from her injury. Since she’s been out, they’ve gone 0-4 with an average margin of loss of 26.25. That includes a 26-point loss to these very same Aces.
The Aces didn’t look great against the Fever last time out, but that’s hardly a reason to fade them against the Sun here. I’ll take A’ja Wilson and gang to beat up on them here and cover easily. I’d take an alternative line up into the 25-point range as well.
