NBA First Bucket Props – May 26
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Tipoff – 8:30 pm EST
Target Center – Minneapolis, MN
Broadcast – ESPN
The first three games of this series have seen the team that’s won the tip score the first bucket. In the first two games of the series, Minnesota grabbed the tip and scored first. One of which was on the first possession, the other came after they had ceded a possession to the Thunder. In Game 3, the Thunder won the tip and got the ball to Isaiah Hartenstein for the quick score. If the trend carries, it pretty much comes down to who we think will win the tip. On the season, the Timberwolves had the better rate of winning the tip. As a result, we’ll go with them on this one.
If we’re going with an individual player, I like Anthony Edwards in this one. The Timberwolves found their footing early in the game last time out and never looked back. A lot of that was due to getting Edwards going early. He took eight shots in the first quarter, which was twice as many as his next closest teammate. I can’t imagine they’re going to want to do anything different than Game 3, so expect a similar early strategy.
