Is the NHL’s top team this season, the Winnipeg Jets, going to make it out of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2020/2021? I’m thinking yes (as does MoneyPuck, which has their chances projected as 80.5%), and I’m also thinking that it’s going to happen tomorrow night on enemy turf.
The St. Louis Blues were a mediocre home team this season, while the Jets were one of the strongest road teams, so it’s a bit of a surprise that the Blues won both their home games this series. But things should revert to the mean tomorrow with a win by the superior team in this matchup, the Jets (who’ll be without two key players, however). But Winnipeg won’t be able to get too far in the playoffs with Connor Hellebuyck stuck in playoff mode instead of regular-season mode.
