Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons Preview and Predictions

Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons Preview and Predictions

The Atlanta Falcons are coming off a thrilling come-from-behind victory against the Philadelphia Eagles. Kirk Cousins diced up the defense on the game-winning drive to get the Falcons their first win of the season. Meanwhile, the Chiefs were saved by a penalty in a 4th and 16 situation to set up the game-winning field goals. Will the Falcons’ defense be able to slow down Patrick Mahomes in this game? Below are my Chiefs at Falcons preview and predictions.

The Kansas City Chiefs will be without Isiah Pacheco as he deals with a fractured fibula for the foreseeable future. The Chiefs did sign Kareem Hunt to the practice squad but will not be elevated to the active roster for Week 3. The backfield of the Chiefs will be led by Carson Steele mixing in Samjae Perine.

As I mentioned above, the Falcons got their first victory of the season in come-from-behind fashion. Now on a short week, they will play another primetime game on Sunday night. Bijan Robinson has started off the season strong for the Falcons. This game will be a good measuring stick on where the Falcons are and all the hype that was surrounding this team coming into this season.

Best Bets

Now this game could be one the books need the underdog team the Falcons. I would expect plenty of moneyline parlays and the public to be on the Chiefs in this game. Can we blame them for backing Mahomes? Absolutely not. Patrick Mahomes is coming off a career-low 151 passing yards in Week 2 against the Bengals.

I don’t expect a ton from the running game of the Chiefs. If the Falcons are able to negate the big plays and limit penalties, they can keep this game competitive. The big IF in the game is going to be Kirk Cousins limiting turnovers. The Falcons certainly possess the weapons to match the Chiefs. In the end, I believe Mahomes will be too much for the Falcons. If the Chiefs have the ball with the lead and four or fewer minutes left, I do not expect the Chiefs to make the same mistakes the Eagles did on Monday Night Football.

Best Bet: Chiefs -3 and Chiefs -155
