College Football Underdog Best Ball Picks
Jalen Milroe (Quarterback, Alabama)
You heard it here first: Jalen Milroe will be the best quarterback in the 2024–2025 season. His skill set with Kalen DeBoer’s offensive mind is going to have Milroe on another level. What DeBoer has done at every level of college football cannot go unnoticed, and there is no reason why he cannot lead another offense at Alabama.
He will have Milroe succeed in both the passing game and running game. We will see Milroe have some forty-point games with a few rushing TDs and really lead your best ball team for the season. Do not be scared to grab him with one of the first few picks.
Damien Martinez (Running back, Miami)
Martinez makes his way across the country after spending two seasons at Oregon State. Last year, he rushed for 1,185 yards in The Pac-12 with a mediocre offensive line. This year, the skill level may take a gap, but so will the offensive line. Miami will have one of the best units, and Martinez will be able to run freely all season.
Last year, this team was a running back by committee, but I expect Martinez to get the bulk of the carries this season. You should be able to get Martinez in round 3 of a 10-man league, which is a great spot, in my opinion.
Kendrick Law (Wide Receiver, Alabama)
Law is around 230–240 ADP, which means you can get him nearly anytime, but let me tell you, this kid has talent. Last year, as a freshman, he slowly started to gain reps in Alabama’s system.
That is always impressive if you are not one of those top 30 recruits, which Law wasn’t. His role will be increased this season, and he is going to be a problem out of the slot or from the backfield.
Law is a weapon that defenses do not know about yet, but they will surely find out soon enough. This Alabama receiving core took a hit after last year, but Law is the man to fill that void.
Amari Niblack (Tight End, Texas)
Amari Niblack is a matchup problem for so many defenses. The 6-4, 250-pound tight end is too strong for defensive backs but too fast for most linebackers. He played his last two seasons at Alabama but took the trip to Texas for this season.
If you watched UT football last season, you saw how important the tight end was in their offense. Ja’tavion Sanders was the third-leading receiver for the Longhorns last season and now plays for the Carolina Panthers.
Niblack surely has the skill set to have an even more productive season in this Texas offense, which hopes to win a national title. He is a great addition to your College Football Underdog Best Ball team and is surely going under the radar.
A little film study with new Texas TE Amari Niblack🎥
One of my favorite routes Sarkisian used with Ja’Tavion Sanders was the over route from a nub TE set.
You can see the similarities with Niblack and Sanders here from the broadcast and end zone views. Expect this concept to… pic.twitter.com/ugBjHXs828
