NBA First FG Props – November 10

Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics

Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
TD Garden – Boston, Massachusetts
Broadcast – ESPN

The Nets are one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to getting the first bucket. They are just 2-6 on the year, and some of that can be attributed to the fact that they aren’t getting a lot of the first possessions. Ben Simmons appeared to be doing so badly on the jump that they’re experimenting with other guys.

The Celtics are on the opposite end of the spectrum. Kristaps Porzingis is 5-2 on the jump, and the Celtics are 6-1 for the first bucket. The only loss for them was an odd fluke where Porzingis happened to tip it to the opposition under their own hoop.

If we’re picking a Celtic, Jaylen Brown is an easy front-runner. Not only is he averaging over 18 shots a game, but he has 33% of their first field goals on the year. He also had their first attempt in the only game they didn’t score first.

First FG Bet for November 10: Jaylen Brown (+650)

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. San Antonio Spurs

Tipoff – 8:00 pm EST
Frost Bank Center – San Antonio, Texas
Broadcast – NBA League Pass

The young stud hasn’t been great on the jump in his last few games, but Victor Wembanyama is still 5-3 on the year. The Spurs, as a team, are still at 50% for their first field goal percentage. The Timberwolves are far worse on the tip, though. They are just 2-5 on the year, and one of those victories does not even belong to their usual tip-man, Rudy Gobert. Expect the Spurs to get the first possession and lean to them on the first bucket.

The big men have been good to me as of late on the early buckets. Myles Turner cashed on Thursday at +600, and that’s been a trend as of late. The Spurs have spread the wealth on their early buckets, with four different starters getting one apiece. The center, Zach Collins, is the only one without one, and I think he nabs it here.

First FG Bet for November 10: Zach Collins (+1100)

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Detroit Pistons

Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Little Caesars Arena – Detroit, Michigan
Broadcast – NBA League Pass

Jalen Duren has been solid on the jumps thus far. He’s 5-1 on the season, and even his replacement is 1-1 for Detroit. They are also scoring the first bucket at a decent clip – right around 50%. The 76ers continue to be a faded team when it comes to first-field goals. They’re getting 28.6% of the tips and the same percentage of first buckets. So we’ll lean to the Pistons for the first score here.

The Pistons don’t have clear trends when it comes to players for the first score. However, they do have one guy taking the bulk of their shots. Only two players are taking double-digit shots per game. Ausar Thompson is shooing 11.1, and Cade Cunningham is shooting 21.3 per game. With that much of a shot share, we’ll play the odds and take Cunningham here.

First FG Bet for November 10: Cade Cunningham (+850)
